More than 200 seniors from Active Ageing Centres and Senior Care Centres in Woodlands recently gathered at Care Cornerโ€™s annual rummy competition to challenge and uplift one another!

This year's tournament was especially meaningful because seniors who attend Care Cornerโ€™s Active Ageing Centres volunteered to coach other participants in the game.

15 senior volunteers from Care Corner taught rummy lessons from May to July at Ren Ci Senior Care Centre and Man Fut Tong Senior Care Centre.

The coaching helped the seniors stay mentally and socially active, and they all came out winning, having gained friends and renewed love for lifelong learning.

And perhaps the biggest win of all is the enjoyable time the seniors had, sharing their skills, cheering one another on, and building a stronger community together.

Thank you to the seniors from the ICCP sub-regions who brought their A-game to the competition! Man Fut Tong Nursing Home, Orange Valley Nursing Home Marsiling, Precious Active Ageing Centre, Renci Community Hospital. SCC, Sree Narayana Mission (Woodlands) AAC, St Andrew's Senior Care, Sunlove Abode For Intellectually-Infirmed

Shoutout to our event volunteers too, for making the competition a memorable one for the seniors! Singapore Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia, OCBC, Youth Corps Development Team (operated by Care Corner Singapore)

Could the next breakthrough in social services come from collaborations that go beyond the sector? ๐Ÿ’ก

Looking at the fresh ideas that the social service, healthcare and public sectors jointly came up with at Care Cornerโ€™s Learning Festival & Ideathon 2026, the future certainly looks bright. โžก๏ธ

And if you find your neighbourhood laundromat becoming a friendly โ€œthird spaceโ€ where resource-strapped parents tackle chores and access childcare support all at once, donโ€™t be surprised; you read it here first.

But the Learning Festival & Ideathon was never just about spawning new ideas in social service and healthcare. Our hope is to help the 68 cross-sector participants and their respective organisations (re)discover the key โ€“ and joy โ€“ to continuous innovation: Embracing the realisation that the best ideas emerge when diverse partners rally around a shared purpose.

Care Corner is grateful to all the collaborators across the social, healthcare, public and design and technology ecosystem who generously took part in the dialogue and explored innovative solutions to better serve the needs of the community.

A heartfelt "thank youโ€ to every panellist, speaker, facilitator, staff, and sector partner for your creativity and openness to collaborate!

Shout out to Open Government Products for facilitating the design thinking workshop at the event, supporting the sectors to build good solutions that help the community. The energy and ideas you drew out of us is a powerful reminder that when we commit to reimagining how we serve communities together, we can create greater social impact.

This is only the beginning. We look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring how we can turn the ideas generated into solutions for the communities we serve!

In celebration of SG61, our seniors from Care Corner Senior Care Centre and Social Day Care For The Elderly teamed up with students from the Singapore University of Social Sciences and our partners at SMRT to co-create community art murals now on display at Braddell and Toa Payoh MRT stations.

They're up till mid-September, so be sure to stop by and check them out ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you to SUSS students for the creative craft work thoughtfully designed to keep the seniors' fine motor skills engaged, and for SMRT for sharing the seniorsโ€™ creativity with our community! For seniors who are living with dementia, these craft sessions also encouraged conversations and intergenerational bonding.

We were also honoured to have Minister Chee Hong Tat ๅพ่Šณ่พพ and Mr Cai Yinzhou ่”กๅผ•่ˆŸ, advisors to the Bishan-Toa Payoh grassroots organisation, join us in unveiling the murals, which were brought to life by the many hands and hearts behind this collaboration.

Three agencies. One shared vision about innovation in the social service sector ๐Ÿค

Care Corner SG, Allkin Singapore and Fei Yue are proud to join hands to launch the Innovation Collective, a new sector-led partnership to strengthen innovation capabilities across Singaporeโ€™s social service sector. This marks the next chapter in Care Cornerโ€™s innovation journey.

Over the past three years, with Lien Foundationโ€™s support, Care Corner set up an Innovation Squad to translate innovation intent into practical tools and solutions. Building on the learnings, the Innovation Collective will bring the three organisations together to develop shared capabilities and tackle common social challenges at scale. Together, the three employ over 1,700 staff and serve more than 154,000 clients across every life stage annually.

The three organisations signed an MOU on the side of Care Cornerโ€™s Learning Festival & Ideathon 2026 to officially launch the Innovation Collective. The signing was witnessed by Mr Goh Pei Ming, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Social and Family Development.

With the Innovation Collective, we hope to accelerate innovation across the sector through shared learning, shared capability, and shared impact for the communities we serve.

At our Family Service Centres (FSCs), we listen, support, show up for one another, and celebrate every little win. Watch as our social workers transform blank post-it notes into meaningful reflections, capturing the care and moments that matter most as they journey alongside the individuals and families they serve.

Did you know that FSCs helpย individuals and their families de-escalate risks, meet their care needs and achieve resilience? These include providing case management support on issues related to family, caregiving, and emotional management.

P.S. This video unfolded in a refreshed space at our Family Service Centre in Toa Payoh! Designed with warm wood tones and nature-inspired touches, itโ€™s a place where we want all who step in our space to feelย assureย andย restored.

Taking care of our mental health and keeping our minds sharp is crucial for living a fulfilling life. Just like physical fitness, maintaining our emotional well-being and cognitive health takes regular check-ins, open conversations, and a supportive community.

On 27 June, from 9amโ€“1pm, our Care Corner Community Mental Health Team had the wonderful opportunity to partner with Victory Family Centre Singapore for their Community Health Day!

It was an incredible day of coming together to support our community's well-being โ€” and through the event, we reached out to 180 individuals.

Here's a quick look at how we connected with everyone during the event:

We hosted a talk titled "Understanding Dementia," where we shared practical insights on spotting early signs and how we can all better support our loved ones. It was wonderful seeing everyone so engaged and eager to learn how to build a warmer, more inclusive community together.

We also set up our "Care Corner Mental Health and Dementia Support" booth to offer hands-on help. Our team was on the ground providing cognition and mood screenings to help participants check in on their mental wellness, along with useful resources and practical tips for mental health and dementia care.

A big thank you to Victory Family Centre Singapore for inviting us, and to everyone who stopped by to chat or listen to our session! ๐Ÿ™Œ

If you or a loved one are facing mental health or dementia-related concerns, please remember that you don't have to walk this journey alone. ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜๐—ต is here to provide the support and guidance you need.

Flexible funding enables nonprofits and funders to test, learn, and strengthen what works!
ย
Weโ€™re pleased to be featured in new research from The Bridgespan Group, which draws on insights from 160+ nonprofit leaders and ecosystem stakeholders across Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
ย
Our Circle of Care programme was highlighted as a case study, demonstrating how seed funding for programme experimentation can lead to more effective and scalable service delivery models. Long-term funding gave us the confidence and predictability to invest in Circle of Careโ€™s capacity, partner coordination, and, more importantly, impact measurement. ย
ย
As Christian Chao, Care Cornerโ€™s Chief Executive Officer, shares, โ€œWhen a funder says, โ€˜The journey wonโ€™t be smooth โ€“ there will be pain along the way โ€“ please share your experiences and lessons with us,โ€™ it allows us to be very candid and open to learning together, rather than hide behind numbers and reports.โ€
ย
We are deeply grateful to partners and philanthropists who believe in our preventive work and invest in innovating and building capabilities. If your organisation is also interested in advancing long-term impact with us, we would love to start a conversation.ย

Whether young or old, mental wellness matters at every stage of life, and a caring community can make all the difference.

Our youth mental health team, Care Corner INSIGHT (INSIGHT Care Corner Singapore), partners with our seniors at our Active Ageing Centres toย prepareย mini figurine parts for youths to assemble! These small tokens carry a big reminder for them: you are not alone in your mental health journey!ย
ย
Through this activity, our seniorsโ€™ hard work not only extended care to the younger generation, but also kept them actively engaged through fine motor movement and purposeful participation.ย
ย
These figurines are given to youths during our mental health outreach roadshows with partner schools, where youths also have the opportunity to pen encouragement notes back to our seniors, allowing care to flow both ways ๐Ÿ’Œย

Play = fun? Play is also how children learn to connect with the world!ย ย
ย
In todayโ€™s busy, screen-filled lives, children have fewer chances to interact naturally. Yet skills like empathy, self-control, and cooperation grow best through everyday human moments โ€“ and through play.ย
ย
This June, in celebration of the International Day of Play (11 June), we invite you and your child to try the Community Play Challenge.ย
ย
Turn everyday spaces โ€” playgrounds, lift lobbies, neighbourhood walks โ€” into simple moments of connection.ย
