1. Pen as a symbol of seeking knowledge.
2. The direction of pen pointing downwards, as a symbol seeking knowledge from cradle to grave.
3. Four books (kitabs) symbolizes, with the guidance from Al Qur’an, Prophetic Traditions (Al Hadits), consensus of the religiously learned (Al Ijma’) and deducted analogy (Al Qiyas).
4. Three stars symbolizes strengthening and perfecting: Al Islam, Al Iman dan Al Ihsan.
