✦ President’s Lounge: Kizuna in Bloom ✦

What began as a room of strangers slowly unfolded into conversations, laughter, and genuine connections.

Inspired by the Japanese concept of kizuna (絆), meaning deep and enduring bonds, this intimate afternoon brought together our local community, Japanese friends, and Baby Jaycees for something simple yet powerful: meaningful human connection.

Over matcha lattes and thoughtful conversations, stories were shared, perspectives exchanged, and new friendships quietly took root.

JCI Orchid Social Strides: Plogging Edition
Event details: Sunday, 25 July 2026 at 9.30am (2 hours)
Meeting Point: Casuarina Road Car Park

We’re changing things up this month for Social Strides, our monthly nature walk, to add in a plogging component to our walk!

This walk will be time duration-based. We will meet at the Casuarina Road Carpark, buddy up and set off along the Upper Pierce path and leave the pathways cleaner than we found it.

All ladies are welcome to join and please invite your friends to join us for a morning of adventure!

Please come dressed in your JCI polo if you have one or a comfortable shirt for guests, with walking shoes and water. Let’s do our small part to keep these shared spaces pristine and beautiful for everyone.

💜 This morning, we partnered with ANRC for our Hearts & Hands community project, where volunteers spent time accompanying seniors for a fuzzy flower workshop. 🌸

When people see a grant being awarded, they often see the final outcome. The selected projects, the funding, the impact stories, and the beautiful moment when an idea gets the support it needs to move forward.

What is less often seen is the quiet work behind it.

JCI Orchid is deeply honoured to receive this message from 2026 JCI President Alejandra Castillo, acknowledging 2026 President for her efforts in putting a team together to support the 2026 JCI Crocodile Foundation SDG Community Grant.

Behind the scenes, our members Sarah and Charmaine spent late nights reviewing applications from across the globe, ensuring that each project met the requirements of submission and that proper governance would be upheld in the usage of the grants.

Beyond the work itself, this was also an important opportunity for growth and exposure for JCI Orchid as a chapter. Through the process, we had the privilege of learning how different communities around the world approach impact, what makes a project meaningful beyond its launch, and what it truly takes for an initiative to remain sustainable in the long run.

This is the kind of service that may not always happen under the spotlight, but it matters. It protects the integrity of impact, gives deserving projects a fair chance, and reminds us that leadership is also found in diligence, responsibility, and the willingness to do the careful work well.

Thank you President for your kind words and encouragement. We are proud to play our part in supporting community projects that advance the Sustainable Development Goals and create lasting change around the world.

Some nights are hard to put across in words. You can list the programme, thank the guests, post the formal photos, and still somehow miss the thing that made the evening feel like magic!

For us, the real story of Nocturne in Bloom lived in the atmosphere. It was in that purple glow across the room, the laughter between table shots, the hurried “come take photo!” moments, the tiny fixes happening quietly in the background, and the way people kept showing up for one another with so much warmth.

It was the kind of night where everything felt a little softer, fuller, and more alive. Familiar faces filled the room, new friendships began over dinner, old friends came through with love, and JCI Orchid bloomed in her own beautifully dramatic way.

A little elegant, a little chaotic, and very, very us. 💜🌸

Half a year has passed so quickly! Here’s looking back on JCI Orchid’s 55th Gala Installation, Nocturne in Bloom, an event that marked more than the installation of our 2026 Board of Directors.

It was a celebration of the women who came before us, the leaders rising in this season, and the community that continues to believe in what JCI Orchid stands for.

To our Guest-of-Honour Angjolie Mei, JCI Singapore National Board, sister chapters, senators, members, sponsors, partners, friends and supporters, thank you for standing with us as we stepped into a new year of leadership.

When we began our 2026 journey, we carried one simple belief with us:

Leadership is lived, not worn.

Here’s to the second half of 2026, as we continue to bloom with courage, build with heart, and lead in a way that leaves the room better than we found it. 🌸
