✨🌟 What an incredible start to something truly special! 🌟✨

Tuesday, 28th April marked the joyful and much-awaited beginning of our 3-month Jewellery-Making Certification Course, organized by SIFAS — and the energy in the room was simply contagious! 💫 💗

Our amazing seniors dived into the colorful world of polymer clay with excitement and curiosity, learning how to expertly condition the clay using different techniques and exploring a range of tools and accessories that bring creativity to life. 🎨

And the best part? Getting their hands busy and hearts happy as they crafted their very own stunning beads! Each creation was unique — just like them. 💖

The room was filled with laughter, creativity, and shining smiles throughout — a beautiful reminder that learning something new can be so empowering and joyful. 🌈

And this is just the beginning! At the end of the course, our seniors will receive official certificates — a proud milestone and a true mark of empowerment in their silver years. ✨🎓

We can’t wait to see this journey unfold with even more creativity, confidence, and self-expression ahead! 💫

We’ve now completed all three outreach sessions leading up to our new programme at Sri Siva Krishna Temple. 🙏🏻💗🦚
This marks an important step as we prepare to begin regular sessions from 6 May - building early trust, familiarity and connection with seniors in the community.💌
Our sincere thanks to the Temple management team for their strong partnership and support in making this possible.🪢💗
To our volunteers and backend team, your consistency, energy and commitment on the ground are what make this work real.
We look forward to continuing this journey together as we begin weekly sessions and deepen engagement with the seniors we serve.
Thank you for being part of this. 🙏🏻💌

Spreading smiles is easy… Building consistent participation is not. 🙏🏻💗
At Project SMILE, we focus on something simple but often overlooked. Helping seniors take the first step, and then creating the conditions for them to keep showing up.
That is where real change begins.❤️‍🩹
As we grow, we are looking for people who want to contribute with purpose and consistency.🤝
Roles open across:
• Social Media
• Tech Support
• Programme Coordinators
• Programme Management
Whether you prefer working behind the scenes or directly with seniors, there is a place for you.
No prior experience needed. What matters is commitment, reliability, and the willingness to show up. 🙏🏻💗
If this speaks to you, join us.💌

First step into Kolam Ayer - and the energy showed.💗🙏🏻
This morning at Super Sunday Walk, we met residents, shared our mission and began building something simple but important: a space where seniors feel comfortable to show up, connect, and keep coming back. 🫶🏻🪢
Grateful to the Kolam Ayer CC team for backing this outreach and helping us reach the ground.
We start sessions starts on 8 June, and this is just the beginning. 🙏🏻💗

Small acts. Big smiles. 💛
Over the past 8 weeks, something special has been quietly unfolding at Project SMILE.
A group of seniors 👴👵 came together to learn crochet, many picking it up for the very first time. What started with simple stitches slowly turned into something more. Confidence, focus, creativity and pride.
From bookmarks to granny squares, from Hair clips to little handmade pieces, every creation carries a story📖. Not just of learning, but of showing up, trying, and staying with it.
Guided by Adhi, with support from Ms Tan, what stood out was not just the skill being taught, but the spirit✨ in the room. The energy, the laughter, the willingness to learn at any age.
This is what we believe in💪

That it is never too late to begin⏰

Those small moments, done consistently, can mean everything.

Something new, something meaningful 🌿
Today, 13 of our volunteers came together for an essential oil–making workshop as part of our ‘train-the-trainer’ journey.
It was more than just learning how to create blends.

It was about slowing down, engaging the senses, and discovering how something simple can be both calming and uplifting.
Guided by a wonderful trainer from Ms. Xinyi from Carden, our volunteers explored a wide range of oils, understood their properties, and each created their own blend to take home. For many, it was their first time. By the end, some were already confident to start sharing this with our seniors. 😌❤️
What stood out most was the experience itself.
As one volunteer shared: “Working with the scents awakened all my senses in the most refreshing, calming, and energizing way.”
This is how we build our programmes. 🪢💌
Not just activities, but experiences that our volunteers can carry forward with confidence, and pass on with care. Looking forward to bringing this to our seniors soon 🤍❤️

Today reminded us what truly powers Project SMILE…our volunteers. 🤗🫶🏻💗🎗️
The energy, the warmth, the willingness to show up… it was all there. And it mattered.🪢💗
From meaningful conversations to shared laughter over food, today’s volunteer meet was more than just a gathering. It was connection. It was community. It was people choosing to care.
To our new volunteers, welcome.
To those who continue to give your time and heart….A Big thank you.🙏🏻❤️

And to those who quietly went the extra mile, bringing food and extending kindness in your own way, we saw you. It meant more than you know.
“We cannot do great things, only small things with great love.”🫶🏻❤️

That’s what today felt like.
And that’s what makes this community special.

18th March was a special day at our senior programme 💌👵👴
We had the pleasure of welcoming the team from IBM, who spent time with our seniors and joined in watching their weekly exercise session. There were plenty of smiles, conversations, and moments of connection all around. 🫶🏻☺️
We are encouraged by their interest in supporting Project SMILE through tech enablement and training for our seniors, a meaningful step as we continue to grow our work on the ground.
A heartfelt thank you to the IBM team for taking the time to be with us. 🫶🏻🙏🏻
And as always, to our volunteers, the steady hands and hearts behind every session, thank you for making moments like these possible. 🎗️

Small creations. Big smiles. 🫶🏻💌
Over the past few weeks, our seniors have been learning how to create colourful flowers using simple pipe cleaners.🪻💐
What began as a small craft activity quickly became something much more meaningful.
Participants exchanged ideas, helped one another shape their flowers, and proudly shared their finished creations with the group. The room was filled with laughter, encouragement, and a wonderful sense of community.
Some have even started making their own flower bouquets to gift to friends and loved ones. 💐💗🫂
Moments like these remind us that creativity has no age limit. 🧠 Sometimes, the simplest activities bring the greatest joy. And judging by the smiles today… these flowers were a blooming success. ☺️

An afternoon of reflection, learning, and encouragement. 💌🎗️
On 10th March, our Project SMILE volunteers and seniors gathered for a motivation workshop that focused on something simple but powerful , how we care for ourselves while caring for others. 🫂
Through thoughtful sharing and engaging activities, participants reflected on the importance of maintaining a positive mindset, practising self-care, and staying emotionally resilient as we journey through life. The session also included a “feeling check-in”, where participants paused to reflect on their emotional well-being and the role that appreciation, kindness, and positive relationships play in everyday life. We are grateful to Ms Shailash Naidu, an experienced educator and motivational facilitator with over three decades in education and training, for generously guiding this meaningful session. 🥰🙏🏻
Her reminder to everyone in the room was simple but profound: “Keep your cup full. When we take care of ourselves, we are better able to support others.”
