Intergenerational connections are a huge part of what we do with The Bloom Fund - fostering meaningful relationships between our seniors (with their life stories to share!) and the rest of the larger community.

Earlier this month, TRCL brought together friends and supporters for an intimate gathering, themed on a historical event and inviting the key individuals involved to tell us their side of the story. Learning about the significant chapter in Singapore's media scene was not all - our like-minded partner dConstruct gave a demonstration of how technology can document and re-tell these evergreen stories, that can live on as legacy.

Here's a glimpse into the session and thank you to our friends and supporters who took time to join us!

The Archive, a collaboration between Impact Colliders, the social enterprise behind "Eh How Ah?" and TRCL, takes place over three Sundays this September, anticipating 600 Singapore seniors to share their life stories which get documented by AI into a publicly accessible digital archive. There's more happening at each session, so check it out and invite your family and friends to participate!

This initiative is in support of The Bloom Fund, an inter-generational initiative dedicated to bridging generations and fostering meaningful connections between seniors and younger communities. By promoting shared experiences and mutual understanding, the fund aims to reduce social isolation, cultivate empathy and build a more inclusive and compassionate society. Through strategic partnerships and ongoing research, The Bloom Fund continues to champion innovative programmes that empower individuals to grow together across ages. Part of the event proceeds will go towards supporting The Bloom Fund.

ALFA Conference 2026 brought together policymakers, practitioners, researchers and community leaders to explore how assisted living can evolve to better support Singapore’s ageing society.

Across a day of insightful discussions, speakers shared perspectives on ageing well, community support systems, infrastructure, and the role of arts and wellness in enhancing quality of life. From policy frameworks to real-world solutions, the conversations highlighted how assisted living can bridge the gap between ageing-in-place and institutional care.

We are grateful to our distinguished speakers — Mr Lee Kwok Ming, Dr Emi Kiyota, Dr Thang Leng Leng, Ms Ruby Lim-Yang, Mr George Heng and Mr Adrian Tan — and moderators Dr Belinda Wee and Ms K. Jayaprema PBM for guiding thoughtful and engaging discussions throughout the day.

This conference was organised by Assisted Living Facilities Association (ALFA) and TRCL, with support from The Bloom Fund.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in shaping meaningful conversations around person-centred and sustainable models of assisted living.

See you at ALFA Conference 2027.
