Today, 3.6 billion people, nearly ½ of the world's population, do not have access to safely managed sanitation in their homes. Of those, 1.7 billion people lack basic sanitation (about 21% of the world’s population) and 494 million people practice open defecation (WHO & UNICEF, 2021) [https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/9789240030848].

This ruins their heath and pollutes the environment. Inadequate sanitation systems spread human waste into water resources under our feet. And the alarming truth... we are still very much off track our Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of ensuring clean sanitation for all by 2030.

The funds generated through this Urgent Run will go to World Toilet Organization (WTO)‘s crucial advocacy work for effective sanitation policies to ensure health, dignity, and well-being for people all over the world.

So please join us as runner/walker, and help us to raise funds for this worthy cause and share with your friends and family to join us on this path!
