A big thank you to our management partners who joined us at the AI-Digitalisation / Job Redesign Masterclass organised by NTUC's EME Cluster.

Through practical Amazon Web Services (AWS) use cases and insights from the Institute of Adult Learning Singapore (IAL), participants gained a better understanding of how AI can support business operations, workforce transformation and job redesign.

We remain committed to supporting initiatives that help companies build capabilities and equip workers with skills for the future.

SMEEU was pleased to co-organise a technical talk with Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers Singapore (SNAMES) of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers Singapore (SNAMES) and our industry partners on "Alternative Fuels in the Global Merchant Fleet: Charting the Path to 2050."

Participants gained valuable insights into maritime decarbonisation trends, alternative fuel developments, and what these changes could mean for the future of the marine and offshore sector.

As our industry evolves, SMEEU remains committed to supporting members through meaningful learning opportunities that help them stay informed, relevant and future-ready.

Our sincere congratulations to NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng on his appointment to Cabinet. He has always been a champion for workers, often encouraging us to find new and better ways to support our members. His appointment reflects the importance of strong representation for jobs, workers, and workforce transformation as Singapore navigates the future of work.

Today we celebrate our birthday from our inauguration on 18 July 1981! For 45 years, SMEEU has been been championing fair wages, safe workplaces, skills upgrading, and stronger representation in Singapore’s Shipbuilding and Marine and Offshore Engineering industry.

We wouldn’t have been able to do this without our members, union leaders, management and tripartite partners from past and present who have journeyed with us. Thank you for your trust, support, and solidarity. Together, we celebrate and look forward to working together to build an even stronger future for all in the industry!
