OperaWorks - Singapore Aim to promote and cultivate Cantonese Opera The air of charity is always hovering over the OperaWorks (Singapore).

本着发扬粤剧艺术，培育热爱粤剧人士，增加与国外粤剧艺人的交流以及参与慈善活动的宗旨；我们两位资深粤剧艺员朱敬芬和朱少芬，与一群一直追随并与两位共同进退多年的粤剧爱好者在2008年成立“新艺剧坊”，今后将积极朝着扩大我国粤剧演出天地的道路前进。

多年来，朱敬芬和朱少芬培育不少年轻的粤剧艺员，一起参与无数的舞台演出，其中不乏脍炙人口的剧目，如“任白”戏宝“再世红梅记”，“紫钗记”与“蝶影红梨记”；传统名剧“梁山伯与祝英台”与“白蛇传”等；以宣扬佛教的“玉琳再世缘”，“地藏王渡世”；另外在香港与著名文武生罗家英先生一起演出“万世流芳张玉乔”，“狄青”以及“隋宫十载菱花梦”，也曾经和香港著名电视演员梁天先生合演“清宫残梦”。我们这些年的演出都深获好评， 令观众留下深刻的印象。

作为新的粤剧团体，“新艺剧坊”的成员们都充满信心，我们将延续对粤剧艺术的热忱，继续在舞台上呈献场场好戏。本剧坊也会积极

与各地的粤剧艺术家合作演出，培植粤剧幼苗，共同推广本地的粤剧演出。

新艺剧坊”将会全心全意为我国的慈善事业再尽一分棉力，更加积极为有需要援助的人士献出我们的爱心，传达“为善最乐”的精神，回馈社会。

OperaWorks (Singapore) was set up by Cantonese Opera veterans, Chee Kin Foon and Chee Siew Fun together with a group of devoted friends. It was established in 2008 with an aspiration to promote the art of Cantonese opera and to nurture Cantonese opera enthusiasts. In addition, we hope to be able to initiate opportunities to interact and exchange expertise with overseas performers and to keep up the development of Cantonese opera performances in Singapore. OperaWorks (Singapore) aims to be an active figure in community service work and will dedicate its efforts to charity work as its foremost mission. Our Activities
OperaWorks (Singapore) is consistently in line with the Singapore government's objective to preserve and promote the vanishing art of Chinese opera among the local community. Foreign expertise from countries such as China and Hong Kong is tapped to help uplift the performing skills and standards of the troupe. Renowned Beijing's opera artistic director, Madam Chen Rong Fang was a trainer for many of the troupe's members as well as popular Hong Kong opera celebrity, Law Kar Ying was also specially invited to share his expertise and to personally coach and guide the troupe's members. Our troupe's chairman conducts training sessions, workshops and talks at schools, colleges and other tertiary institutions to help disseminate the appreciation of the opera art form to the younger generation.The troupe's members have participated in many overseas performances and gained invaluable experiences and achievements especially during their co-performances with the renowned foreign artistes. Majority of the public performances at leading theatres, both local and overseas, was staged in aid of charitable organizations. Proceeds of the performances were donated to help raise funds for old age homes, handicapped children and other welfare organizations.
