NA CARES Singapore - Noah's Ark CARES

NA CARES Singapore - Noah's Ark CARES NA CARES is an IPC approved charity based only in Singapore. We sterilize and rescue dogs/cats on mainland plus manage a shelter in Jurong Island for the dogs.

Head over to https://www.giving.sg/organisation/profile/nacaressg to donate! NA CARES was formed in June 2005 as a society and gained the Charity status and Institution of a Public Character (IPC) in 2016 which allows donations made by individuals and companies, tax deductible. NA CARES’s main cause is Trap, Neuter, Release and Manage (TNRM) stray animals to humanely control the stray population

in Singapore. Working in tandem with the local government agency and other animal welfare groups (AWGs), we aim to have a stray-free Singapore in years to come. The two TNRM projects handled by volunteers are “Project Industrial Dogs” (PID) and “Project Cat Snip” (PCS). In addition to the industrial areas, NA CARES is actively involved in the Jurong Island Project initiated by a Minister. The Jurong Island project entails TNR and the welfare management of the strays (food, water, medical needs, rehoming, etc.). How can you help? There are many ways to contribute towards our cause - every bit counts and it goes a long way.
• Donate towards sterilization, food cost for the strays.
• Provide a foster home so that the dog has a chance to be rehomed. With every dog rehomed, we are able to save another dog off the streets.
• Adopt a dog and share your experience with others – be an advocate for adoption.
• Volunteer your time and skills. We need committed volunteers for on-going projects, events, designers, writers, photographers, social media and website management. Contact us at [email protected] if you are able to help us work towards a better future for the stray animals.

Thank you everyone for rooting for Sacha - every bit of donation counts and we need all the help we can get thus do help to share her post (donation link is at the old post https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15yCBCm1rKw/?mibextid=wwXIfr)

Is this Sacha’s first time ever on a bed? We believe so, such a simple thing that most of us take for granted. Sometimes she shivers when she sleeps - not sure out of fear, danger or undernourishment. We will slowly build up her immunity too to fight the “tough battle” ahead - she is already on oral medication for now to treat her tick fever condition🤞🏼

When we received this photo, we knew she needed help badly. We practically cannot accept every single case that comes along and our shelter is currently quite full, but we have to take her somehow. SPCA Singapore helped the stray caregiver to trap her, and she went straight from their premises to one of the veterinary clinics we work with.

Old girl, tumor on paw and other parts of the body too, plus heartworm and tick fever positive - she was heavily infested with ticks, not surprising of a street dog but hers was really bad. Her heartworm and tick fever diagnosis also complicates her existing condition as she might not be able to survive any surgery.

We named her Sacha, which means “defending warrior” in Greek. She is spending her first clean and safe night at our shelter tonight 🥹 The route ahead is long (and rocky) for Sacha - will she make it? We need your help please, if you can donate at https://www.giving.sg/donate/campaign/living-their-lives-out-in-dignity or UEN T05SS0171L. Do use the giving.sg campaign if you can as your donations into the campaign will be matched one for one 🙏🏼

We will be with her, one step at a time 🪜

A lot of people are not aware that we actually feed and also sterilize quite a lot of cats - especially in areas like Tuas/Tuas South.

We just received a bulk purchase offer of 80g cat canned food which the supplier are changing the labels - it is a reliable brand but we need to meet their MOQ of 200 boxes. There is at least six months expiry to this batch of goods and we can pass some to the factory workers for their charges plus also share with some cat feeders we work with.

May we request for 67 donors of $45 each (3 cartons per donor) so that we can secure this lot of wet food to use for the next months? We are currently running a matching campaign on giving.sg now - if you can donate via this link https://www.giving.sg/donate/campaign/hope-for-the-forgotten-felines it will be much appreciated as your donation will in fact be doubled. But if you prefer to donate via PayNow (UEN T05SS0171L), you may do so too 🙏🏼 as every donation is appreciated.

Please either email us at [email protected] or leave a comment below so that we can tally up the donations. And do always note that your full name and full NRIC must be provided at either giving.sg or via email to us so that the tax deduction can be successfully processed. Thank you!

We will like to launch an appeal for these waterproof mats - previously we were using elevated childcare cots but we do have a few medical cases now that need flat beds.

The foldable ones (top picture) can be easier adjusted to the kennel size but the dark blue types (bottom picture) work fine too! A single foldable piece costs $40 so we will like to ask around for preloved ones first. Please email us at [email protected] if you have some to donate 🙏🏼 We will try our best to work out the logistics at our end!

Who is Noah's Ark CARES?

Some of our newer supporters may not know this, but Noah's Ark CARES was founded 25 years ago with a single purpose: Trap-Neuter-Return-Manage (TNRM).

At a time when TNRM was not yet a widely recognised approach, our volunteers were already out on the ground, humanely managing stray dog and cat populations through sterilisation programmes across Singapore.

Over the last two and a half decades, countless community dogs and cats have been sterilised through our efforts. This work has taken us to many parts of the island, including Kranji/Sungei Kadut, Tuas/Tuas South, Jurong area and Jurong Island, where our volunteers have been carrying out sterilisation work for years — in some areas, for almost two decades.

Beyond our own ground operations, Noah's Ark CARES has also worked closely with independent rescuers, caregivers and feeders across Singapore, supporting their efforts with sterilisation assistance, medical resources and advice. By working together, we have been able to help even more animals receive the care they need and prevent the cycle of unwanted litters from continuing.

Back then, our focus was never on documenting every trapping operation, sterilisation, feeding round or release. We did not measure success by the number of photographs taken or posts published.

We measured it by something far simpler: fewer unwanted litters, healthier community animals, and a gradual reduction in stray populations through humane means.

The truth is that much of animal welfare work happens quietly. It happens in the early mornings, late at night, on weekends and public holidays. It happens because volunteers show up, year after year, because they care.

Today, as more people become aware of TNRM and more groups join the effort, we are heartened to see community animal welfare receiving greater support and attention.

As we continue our work, we would also like to recognise the many volunteers, caregivers, independent rescuers and supporters who have stood alongside Noah's Ark CARES over the past 25 years. Much of what has been achieved was built through their dedication, perseverance and belief that every animal deserves a chance at a better life.

This is who we are.

And this is the work we have quietly continued for the last 25 years.

Some of our dogs are on long-term supplements which are rather costly, but they have shown vast improvement. In the picture are just three types some of them are using on top of the rest - Lypex for pancreatic issue, Antinol PLUS for joint health and PYOspot for skin.

Marshall has always had a huge appetite but been this stick-thin all along. Special diet did not seem to help much but when we took him under our care, Lypex worked for him though it is quite expensive. Please look at the pictures for his improvement in less than two months!

These three supplements alone (one box each) cost us $240 per month and we will like to raise enough to cover half a year first. May we seek 36 donors for a share of $40 each? The easiest way to donate will be via PayNow - UEN T05SS0171L. Please email us at [email protected] if you need a tax-deductible receipt, thank you.

Note: Do put your full name and full NRIC within the PayNow transaction remarks for tax deduction. If this is not possible due to space constraint, please email us instead. Tax deduction can only be processed with submission of full name (exactly as in NRIC) and full NRIC - these details will be submitted to IRAS at our end.

The weather is horrendous today - at least in the West. As luck would have it, this little one came out for food as we were trapping cats for sterilization. He/she is missing a paw, we cannot pretend we did not see. Let us see if we can get him/her 🤞🏼

Hello everyone, how has your long weekend been thus far? A few of our volunteers spent two entire afternoons opening urns ⚱️ - when we took over our second TAL unit, there was a storeroom full of few hundred urns. These dogs passed on at the shelter, and their ashes taken back to the shelter too after cremation.

Some of these urns date back to more than a decade ago. We repacked their ashes into individual ziplocks and have arranged for sea scattering. A huge thank you to Rainbow Paradise and BFF for assisting in this - we want to let these dogs (and cats) run free too. The benevolence showed to us and these shelter animals is immeasurable and this round, it is not only about the money but the kind thoughts too 🌈
