With support from New Hope Community Services, she found a role as a Facility Cleaner at World Clean Facility Services. Today, Sasha is empowered with greater responsibility and financial independence to support her family.

It was an insightful session at day 2 of At One Impact Week where SBF Foundation shared about how businesses can evolve from the traditional approach of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) towards creating 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞.

What does it really mean to be “in their shoes”?

Last week, business leaders stepped away from the boardroom and into the lived realities of vulnerable communities through In Their Shoes 2026, an immersive learning experience by the SBF Foundation, in partnership with New Hope Community Services (NHCS) and Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH).

The day began with a Learning Journey to understand the work of NHCS and SAMH, hear about the experiences of their beneficiaries, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges that can stand in the way of stability, well-being, and employment. But understanding is different when you experience it for yourself. Through the Poverty Simulation, participants gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals and experienced first-hand how difficult choices can become when resources and opportunities are limited.

For many, it was an emotional and eye-opening experience that challenged perspectives and sparked conversations about what businesses can do differently. Most importantly, many participants left wanting to explore more inclusive hiring practices within their own organisations. Because empathy matters most when it leads to action.

In a world driven by technological advancement, how do businesses ensure no one is left behind?

At the third Corporate Purpose Roundtable (CPR), SBF Foundation convened our strategic donors and partners for thoughtful conversations on driving collective social impact in a rapidly evolving world.

Hosted by our Chairman, Ms Janet Ang, we were honoured to welcome Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, whose insights and presence anchored discussions on pressing themes shaping our shared future. From creating pathways for vulnerable communities to strengthening mentorship for young Singaporeans, the conversations underscored a shared conviction that inclusion must remain at the heart of Singapore's increasingly tech-enabled future.
