We thank Mr Wee Toon Huey, NIE alumnus from the Class of 1996 and Management Leadership in Schools in 2016, who made a kind donation of $10,000 towards the NTU Bursary Fund. Mr Wee, a physics teacher whose father was a classmate and friend of Mr Ho Kah Leong, a Nantah alumnus from the Class of 1963, and former PAP Member of Parliament for the Jurong constituency, hopes that his gift will make a significant difference to the lives and plight of needy students in the University. Mr Ho left an indelible mark on Mr Wee by rendering financial help to his family during a difficult period when Mr Wee’s father passed away at the age of 47. In tribute of Mr Ho’s inspiring generosity, Mr Wee has continued the cycle of giving and hopes that his gift will help underprivileged students tide through difficult times, especially during the current pandemic, as well as inspire future generations to help those in need in the same way he and his family were helped by Mr Ho.
