SICCI and tabla! held the inaugural tabla!–SICCI Leadership Exchange on 21 October 2026 at the SPH Auditorium, with Guest of Honour Ms Gan Siow Huang 颜晓芳 and SICCI Director Mr Sanjey Chandran as speakers. The session gave business leaders an opportunity to explore Singapore–India business opportunities and the capabilities needed to pursue them.

The discussion covered expansion into new markets in India, the use of AI and the development of future-ready skills. These areas are relevant to SICCI members seeking growth opportunities and preparing their businesses and teams for change.

In her public remarks following the event, Ms Gan encouraged Singapore businesses exploring India to tap on Enterprise Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation’s Singapore Enterprise Centre for market insights, business connections and guidance. These resources offer a starting point for members assessing opportunities in India’s large and diverse market.

As the first session in a series, the Leadership Exchange provides a platform for continued dialogue on business opportunities and stronger Singapore–India links. SICCI thanks Ms Gan, Mr Sanjey Chandran, tabla! and all participants for their contributions.

A delegation from the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI), led by Vice-Chairman Mr Jagdish Prasad Jaiswal, together with CEO Mr Predeep Menon and Board Directors Ms Uma Muthu, Mr Dinesh Verma and Mr Rajith Mohan, met Shri Arjun Modhwadia, Minister for Forests, Environment & Climate Change, Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat, and his team on 20 October 2026. Mr Jaiswal welcomed the Minister and conveyed Dussehra greetings on behalf of SICCI and its members.

The engagement focused on strengthening Singapore–Gujarat business relations and creating practical opportunities for SICCI members through investment, technology and business partnerships. Building on SICCI's century-old ties with India, discussions explored how Gujarat's industrial strength and investment environment could complement Singapore's capital, financial expertise, technology and access to ASEAN markets. Key sectors discussed included financial services, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, healthcare technology, green finance, data centres and the circular economy.

SICCI proposed exploring a structured Singapore–Gujarat investment corridor, including greater cooperation between GIFT City and Singapore's financial ecosystem. The Gujarat delegation outlined investment incentives, business facilitation mechanisms and regional development plans identifying 29 major projects and approximately 600 smaller projects. These present potential opportunities for SICCI members to explore new markets, establish partnerships and participate in Gujarat's industrial and economic development.

The Minister invited SICCI and Singapore businesses to participate in Gujarat's growth story and the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027, scheduled for 10–12 January 2027. SICCI will continue building these relationships to facilitate greater business and investment opportunities for its members.

SICCI welcomed about 130 members to our Members’ Networking Evening on 1 October 2026 at Plume @ Singapore Flyer.

The evening brought together new and long-standing members of the SICCI business community, creating opportunities to meet, exchange ideas, learn more about one another’s businesses and explore potential collaborations.

SICCI Chairman Mr Rajakumar Chandra reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to staying in tune with members’ needs and creating more opportunities for members to connect and do business. Members also heard from SICCI’s Vice-Chairmen, Honorary Treasurer and Membership Committee Chairman, as well as SME Centre@SICCI, which shared practical perspectives on AI and business transformation.

The formal programme was followed by dinner and networking, giving members more time to strengthen existing relationships and make new connections.

Her Voice, Our Chamber | Shaping the Future of SHE

Around 40 women entrepreneurs and professionals came together on 30 September 2026 for Her Voice, Our Chamber, an engaging evening hosted by SICCI’s Sisterhood of Entrepreneurs (SHE).

The evening reflected SICCI Chairman Mr Rajakumar Chandra’s message that “the Chamber belongs to its members” — creating a space for women to connect, exchange business ideas, share challenges and explore opportunities to grow together.

SHE Chairwoman Ms Joyce Kingsly shared the vision of developing SHE beyond events into a meaningful platform for business growth and collaboration. Participants also gained practical insights on SME growth from Ms Regina Lim of SME Centre at SICCI, followed by interactive group discussions facilitated by SHE Vice Chairwoman Ms Renuka Arora Bhagat and the SHE Committee.

The discussions brought forward valuable ideas around business opportunities, networking, mentorship, learning and collaboration — but most importantly, they gave members a voice in shaping what they want SHE to become.

The continued efforts of the SHE Committee to engage and grow its community have contributed to an important milestone — SICCI today has the highest number of women members in its 102-year history.

The Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) hosted Shri M. B. Patil, Karnataka’s Hon’ble Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, and his delegation for a business luncheon in Singapore, bringing together representatives from Karnataka and the Chamber for discussions on investment, market access and future business collaboration.

Welcoming the delegation, SICCI Vice Chairman Mr Jagdish Prasad Jaiswal spoke of the Chamber’s century-long role in building business links between Singapore and India. He highlighted Karnataka’s pro-business environment and proposed that SICCI lead a business delegation to the State, subject to the availability of Karnataka’s leadership.

The discussion then turned to how the relationship could translate into practical opportunities for businesses on both sides. Following Minister Patil’s address, SICCI Hon. Treasurer Mr S. Venkita Padmanabhan suggested that Karnataka share specific sector opportunities and relevant government incentives with the Chamber. SICCI could in turn circulate these through its network, helping to facilitate investment between Karnataka, Singapore and the wider ASEAN region.

SICCI’s ability to support businesses at different stages of growth was also highlighted. SMEC-SICCI Chairman Mr S Mahenthiran noted the SME Centre’s work in supporting more than 3,000 SMEs in Singapore, while Board Director Mr Rajith Mohan spoke about SICCI’s role as a bridge for Karnataka companies seeking to enter ASEAN markets.

SICCI Board Directors Ms Renuka Arora Bhagat and Ms Purnima Kamath also participated in the discussion. Ms Renuka Arora Bhagat raised the potential of developing alternative business and investment hubs such as Mysuru, particularly given Bengaluru’s well-known infrastructure and traffic pressures.

Looking ahead, SICCI CEO Mr Predeep K. Menon invited Karnataka to send a delegation to the ASEAN Conference in Singapore in April 2027, providing another platform to deepen business connections with the region. Ms Sudhi Choudhary, Deputy High Commissioner of India to Singapore, commended SICCI’s efforts and expressed her support for initiatives strengthening commercial ties.

The luncheon reflected a shared interest in moving beyond dialogue towards sustained business engagement. With opportunities spanning investment, manufacturing, infrastructure and technology, SICCI looks forward to working with the Government of Karnataka and the High Commission of India to develop concrete avenues for collaboration and long-term business partnerships.

SICCI welcomed its newest members at a Welcome & Networking Session on Wednesday, 23 September 2026. Business owners and professionals from a diverse range of industries and sectors came together for an evening of introductions, conversation and new connections.

SICCI Chairman Mr Rajakumar Chandra, together with Board Directors and the CEO, welcomed the new members and encouraged greater collaboration and connection within the Chamber community.

Each new member introduced themselves and their business, giving fellow members a better sense of the expertise and capabilities available within the Chamber. This also supports SICCI’s Members for Members initiative, which encourages members to do business with one another and extend preferential benefits within the SICCI network.

The session concluded with the presentation of membership certificates, followed by networking over dinner with fellow members, Directors and the SICCI team.

We are pleased to welcome Mr Predeep K. Menon back as Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Mr Menon returns to SICCI after previously having served as CEO from 2003 to 2010, now bringing with him even broader experience, knowledge and a deeper understanding of the business community.

His appointment comes as SICCI enters a new phase of growth and engagement under the chairmanship of Mr Rajakumar Chandra. The Chamber is sharpening its focus on helping businesses adopt technology, improve competitiveness and pursue opportunities in India and the region, while continuing to strengthen the platforms that serve different segments of our business community such as the Sisterhood of Entrepreneurs (SHE), which brings together and advances women business leaders within the SICCI community, and the Aspiring Entrepreneurs Network (AEN), which supports the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Mr Rajakumar Chandra notes that Mr Menon’s experience, familiarity with the Chamber and ability to build strong relationships make him well placed to lead SICCI forward.

The Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) congratulates Mr Praveen Kumar Jain, Chairman and Co-founder of Valency International Pte Ltd., on being named EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2026 Singapore – Commodities and Agriculture.

A first-generation entrepreneur, Mr Jain co-founded Valency International in Singapore in 2007 and has built the company into an international agri-business with operations across 25 countries. Mr Jain is a long-standing member of SICCI and has also served as an esteemed Director in the Chamber's Board, thereby contributing immensely to Singapore’s Indian business community beyond his own entrepreneurial journey.

His achievements reflect the ambition, resilience and global outlook of Singapore’s business community, as well as a longstanding commitment to enterprise and community leadership.

SICCI warmly congratulates Mr Jain and the Valency International team on this well-deserved recognition and wishes them continued success.
