Technical Seminar on Seafood Export to China 🇸🇬🇨🇳

During GACC’s technical visit to Singapore this week , GACC officers visited various seafood establishments, including an aquaculture farm, seafood processing facility and cold store, as part of their programme.

In conjunction with the visit, GACC and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) conducted a technical seminar for SIAS members on exporting seafood to China.

GACC and SFA officers shared practical guidance on the requirements and processes involved, including:

* China’s import and regulatory requirements for seafood
* GACC registration, application and documentation requirements
* Practical considerations for companies seeking to enter or expand in the China market

Members also had the opportunity to engage directly with GACC and SFA officers and clarify questions relating to the export process.

SIAS would like to thank GACC and SFA for sharing their expertise and valuable insights, and our members for their active participation.

SIAS members who would like more information on the export requirements and process may contact the SIAS Secretariat.

Thank You for Making SIAS' 38th Anniversary Dinner a Success

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at the SIAS 38th Anniversary Dinner. It was a pleasure celebrating this special milestone with our members, sponsors, government representatives, trade association partners, industry partners and distinguished guests.

We were honoured to have Senior Minister of State Zaqy Mohamad grace the SIAS 38th Anniversary Dinner as our Guest of Honour.

We were also delighted to introduce Ms Yeo Wan Ling as SIAS' Advisor for Workforce & Industry Capability Development. We are grateful for her support and look forward to working closely with her to strengthen workforce development, skills upgrading and industry transformation across Singapore's seafood industry.

Thank you once again to everyone who joined us and made the evening so memorable. We look forward to welcoming you at future SIAS events.

What kind of leader are you?
A Driver, Task Master, Connector, Influencer, or Thinker?

SIAS, in collaboration with Team Rise SG, organised a 2-day “Resilient Leadership and Business Sustainability” programme at Singapore Management University Academy for SIAS members.

The programme provided a valuable opportunity for members to come together, connect, and learn from one another through open discussions, interactive activities, and leadership sharing sessions.

Throughout the course, participants explored different leadership styles and personalities while gaining deeper insights into how different strengths contribute to teamwork, communication, and decision-making.

One of the most inspiring moments was hearing Danny Loong share his real-life entrepreneurial journey, from turning his hobby into a business to eventually creating a new trend in the market. His story was a meaningful reminder that passion, resilience, and continuous learning are important qualities in both leadership and business growth.

Special thanks to Deon Senturk for conducting the sessions in such a lively, engaging, and inspiring manner, which encouraged meaningful sharing and interaction throughout the programme.

Thank you to all SIAS members for the engaging discussions and valuable insights shared over the past two days. We look forward to the next module!
