Repost from Bible Study Fellowship

We don't naturally like to admit that something is wrong with us. It's much easier to point out the brokenness around us than to recognize the brokenness with us.

But Romans reminds us that every one of us falls short of God's perfect standard. And that's exactly why the gospel is such good news. Only God's true measure of righteousness can stand, and only His perfect sacrifice can save us.

For the early Roman Christians, identifying the sin around them seemed simple. Pagan temples dominated the city as worshipers "exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator" (Romans 1:25).

But just as Paul highlights sin throughout the Roman culture, he quickly turns the focus within. And this is where he lands:
No one is righteous, not even one.

The first chapters of Romans invite us to take a hard look at the reality of sin. Because until we realize how deeply sin has marred us, we'll never experience the joy of salvation.

Only God's true measure of righteousness can stand, and only His perfect sacrifice can save us.

Romans has a clear message for each of us: the gospel changes everything.

Paul opens his letter to the church in Rome by stating that he is "not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes."

The gospel has the power to transform each one of us - and it's not just a one-time salvation event. Instead, the gospel changes every part of who we are, day by day.

Ever wonder if the Bible is still relevant today? If an ancient book can really speak to the problems you're facing right now?

In his letter to the Romans, Paul makes the case that the gospel is timeless and deeply personal. That we deal with the same struggles as those who came before us. And the best news of all is that it is the same God who is at work in our lives today, who is still in control and on the throne.

Romans is about real hope for real life - and the mighty God who draws near to us through Jesus Christ.

Repost from Bible Study Fellowship

The message of Romans is that we are not enough - and that's a good thing.

We could never save ourselves. Even in our best moments, we fall short of God's perfect standards.

But God doesn't leave us alone in our guilt. He provides a way out, through faith in His Son. When we trust in Him, we are freely given His righteousness.

And as we continue to follow Him, God transforms us day by day.

Join Bible Study Fellowship for our study of Romans to experience how God alone moves us from guilt to grace.

Repost from Bible Study Fellowship

Romans gives us an honest look at the human heart - our struggles, our fears, and our hopes.

The Bible paints a clear picture of humanity's state before God - and our desperate need for a Savior.

But the gospel reminds us that we don't have to fix ourselves or find our way back to God on our own. Through Jesus, we are welcomed into a new way of living - one shaped by His love and grace.

Join Bible Study Fellowship for our study of Romans and discover how the hope of the gospel transforms every part of your life.
