Reposted from The true way to make an impact in this world is not what many people would think.

The men and women we’ve read about in Exile & Return had an incredible impact not only on their community, but on generations of believers - including us today. What can we learn about impactful living from them?

It all comes down to living faithfully - walking closely with God, seeking Him daily, and obediently following the path He has for us. It was the faithfulness of the people we’ve studied this year that allowed God to use them in incredible ways.

How might you choose faithfulness today?

This is our final video in a series where BSF Executive Director Hollie Roberts has reflected on each book in the Exile & Return study. We pray they have encouraged you this year! We’ll be back with more of these videos for our upcoming study, Romans: From Guilt to Grace.

How should we make sense of seasons where God seems silent?

After the book of Malachi, God's people enter a 400-year season of silence. We know what that can feel like… seasons where prayers linger and God feels distant.

But because of the Holy Spirit, we can trust that God is always at work and always listening - even when it doesn't feel like it.

This video is part of an ongoing series where BSF Executive Director Hollie Roberts reflects on each book in the Exile & Return study. We pray they encourage you as you study God’s Word!

The prophets we've studied through Exile & Return didn't just have a message for God's people then; their words have value for believers today.

Ezekiel, Daniel, Ezra, Esther, Haggai, Zechariah, Nehemiah, and Malachi still have great wisdom for today. They reveal God's character, God's plan, and how we should live as God's people.

We've been blessed to study God's Word with you this year through Exile & Return. What has God taught you through this study? Let us know in the comments!

Malachi’s prophecies follow a unique question and answer pattern, leading theologians to label him the “syllogistic prophet.”

In Lesson 28 of Exile & Return, Dr. Carl Laney identifies Malachi’s use of literary devices, helping us find a deeper understanding of his proclamations.

How do we handle seasons of discouragement? And how do we help those around us walking through discouragement?

Hollie reflects on her own story of dealing with discouragement, shares a warning about avoiding despair, and provides guidance on how to meet those around us in those seasons - with grace, compassion, and understanding.

This video is part of an ongoing series where BSF Executive Director Hollie Roberts reflects on each book in the Exile & Return study. We’ll be sharing more throughout the year, and we pray they encourage you as you study God’s Word!
