"If not now then when?"

Often, we tell ourselves that we'll start eating better or work out. But waiting for the perfect time is the easiest way to never start at all.

However, for Hairril from ARIF team, he always believed that to be able to achieve a certain status or physique meant starting early and pushing through the challenges along the way.

To remain active, he would cycle to and from work and incorporate a 45-minute workout at Pasir Ris Community Club on Thursdays. As for his diet, he would simply eat or drink healthily by reducing his sugar intake.

Though life gets busy, he remains disciplined by always reminding himself that if he doesn't schedule it, it won’t happen.

Staying healthy means Hairril gets to be dependable for his family, friends, and neighbours, which is his ultimate goal.

Sometimes, all it takes is a little time and consistency to make a difference.

The recent news regarding the conviction of an individual for terrible sexual offences involving young victims is deeply distressing and unacceptable.

Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with them during this incredibly difficult time, and we echo the firm criticism expressed by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) regarding these actions.

Our community spaces must remain sanctuaries of safety and peace. To protect our children, we urge families and the community to take three vital steps:

- Verify credentials
Always check the Asatizah Recognition Scheme (ARS) directory on the MUIS website before trusting individuals with your children’s religious education.

- Keep lines open
Maintain open communication so children feel safe to report any uncomfortable or unsafe interactions, online or offline.

- Exercise collective watchfullness
Look out for one another’s children, ensuring vulnerable youths are surrounded by support, not exploitation.

AMP remains steadfast in supporting our community through our counselling, family, and youth programmes. Let us stand together to ensure our homes, mosques, and community spaces remain safe environments where our families can thrive.

Tonight we enter the blessed month of Rabiul Awal, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). We are reminded to pause, reflect and reconnect with ourselves.

Here are some things you can start incorporating into your everyday routine at work:

1. Spread peace and positivity by smiling at your colleagues and showing them kindness.

2. Structuring life around remembrance (Dhikr) and prayer (Salah).

3. Dedicate time to study the Prophet's life and apply his wisdom at work.

As we reflect on the life and character of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), may this Rabiul Awal inspire us to lead with purpose and navigate challenges with resilience.

AMP celebrated Singapore’s 61st National Day with a team-building event focused on fun, heritage, and unity. The celebration featured Singapore-themed games and cup-stacking challenges, followed by a cultural tour. The team explored the Harmony in Diversity Gallery to learn about Singapore’s multi-religious society and the importance of inclusivity, respect, and national unity.

Remember Effendy’s story on navigating the corporate world as a Muslim executive?

After years as a Senior Vice President in tech and marketing, he made a shift into counselling when he realised his real passion wasn’t climbing the ladder, but helping others grow.

See how he turned decades of leadership into a new career dedicated to helping people be the best version of themselves.

“Not drinking will limit your career.”

That’s what a boss once told Effendy Ibrahim. Instead of compromising his values, he stayed grounded in his faith, and was promoted the very next year.

Islam never requires us to lose ourself. Turns out, staying rooted in who you are is often what sets you apart.

“Build that strong foundation, then trust them enough to let them grow beyond our own shores.”

Special thanks to Sarah and her mum, Yati, for being candid about the anxieties of having your child move overseas to pursue bigger dreams 💜
