SOSD's first Adoption Drive of 2014 happens this Sunday! Roma can't wait to get a shot at finding a home. We too - to help our 25 unadopted puppies find homes, so that we can rescue more.

AVA has just contact us with 3 more impounded adults on deathrow - they have kindly agreed to hold on to them abit longer, until the Adoption Drive ends and we free up more space.

Please tell your friends, who may be looking for a dog!
This drive, we have both HDB approved and non HDB approved doggies!

Cat Welfare Society aims to tackle industrial and commercial areas which accounts for 90% of the culling! There is an estimated 20,000 strays in these areas. We are also tackling hoarding and irresponsible cat ownership that is the source of abandonment.

It’s Christmas season once again and to commemorate the season of giving, Pet Lovers Foundation is choosing to share the love and joy with its animal friends through its sixth Dry Food Donation Drive on 13 December 2013.

All dry food collected from the drive will be donated to animal welfare organisations, Animal Lovers League (ALL), Cat Welfare Society (CWS) and Save Our Street Dogs (SOSD).

Make that meaningful purchase of highly subsidised dry food and donate to our stray and abandoned animals now. Kindly lend a hand to these animal friends by walking into any Pet Lovers Centre stores and buying the sponsored Fish4Dogs, 1st Choice or Pronature dry food, or by simply calling 1800-PETFOOD (1800-7383663).

Surely, our furry friends will feel the love and joy of the Christmas season in this two-week long event!

The International Fund for Animal Welfare has sent a team to Tacloban, an area in the Philippines hit hardest by Typhoon Haiyan. IFAW is an organization that helps - among many other ways - animals in emergency situations. The team has already begun rescuing stranded and starving street animals in Tacloban, and we urge you to support their efforts.

If you prefer to give cash, we will be having a donation box at our Open House this weekend. All proceeds from that box will go to the IWAF. We are having just one donation box that weekend. We think the animals in Philippines need your help more than we do at the moment.

Anyone wanna adopt this super cute boy? He lives in the carpark of my block and I've been feeding him for days. He has grown so attached to me that it's heartbreaking for me to know he is sleeping under cars etc during rainy days. I can't keep him cuz I have 2 already at home. It's heartbreaking for me when he whines for me to bring him along. This morning he chased my car for a distance when I drove to work....

Dog for adoption

On November 26 we are moving to Mumbai, and sadly we cannot take our dog Dora.
We had found a new family for her but unfortunately someone in the family is allergic to dogs.

Dora is a female mixed breed dog, adopted from SPCA by us in January 2013. She is about 16 months old.
She is really gentle, especially for small kids. Dora is grass trained and very very kind. She is up to date with her vaccines and healthy.

Fosterers needed URGENTLY by this weekend for the schnauzer-cross Female and the Male schnauzer we listed earlier as being found in Serangoon. First timers may also try but it has to be with the entire family's consent and we need to meet your family to chat on Sunday. You only need to pick up the dog from Pasir Panjang, pay for food and ordinary pet care. We will take care of any AVA items and medical as per our discussion with our vet and we will do the screening/rehoming. PM us if you have space and will abide by ethical conduct in fostering. Fostering is not adopting but there is a Fostering agreement. Thanks.

Remember Salad? She's doing much better now, but hasn't recovered fully just yet. Salad will likely have to stay until next week, but we really wonder if the clinic staff want to part with her at all :p She's been a big favourite at the vet, with her gentle and loving nature.

Salad is still short of $900 to cover her medical expenses. But with your help, we're hoping to cover the cost of her care by the time she gets discharged.

What breed?

Looks like the canine specie - pure breed or otherwise, is coming together in a bid to help boost the our calendar sales!

This is 1.5 year old mini daschund Dawn.

She isn't a Gentle Paws doggie, just a very pleased furry recipient of our calendar.

Adoption rocks - this little platinum blondie declares, because I was kind of adopted myself.

My original owners said I was barky and peed and pooed too much. They kept me in the kitchen.

When I fell sick and they didn't want to pay the vet bills, they put me up for sale on Facebook.

My current owners felt so outraged and sorry for me when they saw the post, they decided to take over my care.

And now I am a happy doggie, just look at me!

Dawn didn't need to go to a shelter to await a second chance.

But many shelter dogs do. Some have to wait years in the shelter before an adoption opportunity comes their way.
