Malay Heritage Foundation

Malay Heritage Foundation MHF is an IPC-charity organisation that safeguards and promotes our shared heritage for all.

It helps to foster a shared mindshare to build a strong inclusive Singapore and nurture future icons, leaders and change-makers for the arts and heritage sector. MHF was incorporated in Singapore on 28 July 1999 as a non-profit organisation, an approved Charity under the Charities Act, Cap. 37. It has been accorded the status of an Institution of Public Character (IPC) since 29 May 2006. Our prog

rammes and initiatives are aimed at achieving the following strategic outcomes:

📚 To build thought leadership, bridge knowledge gap and enhance social capital by strengthening content on heritage of Malay community in Singapore through documentation and research;

🎓 To build capacity and nurture future heritage advocates and ambassadors by engaging and empowering our youths;

📈 To enhance awareness and deepen appreciation to foster social cohesion and community bonding; and

💡 To strengthen advocacy for the preservation and promotion of heritage of Malay community in Singapore by providing consultancy, advice and critical inputs to various ministries, public and private agencies/organisations. This is to ensure that the heritage of the Malay community in Singapore continues to be protected, preserved and promoted as part of the Singapore's shared story and appreciated by present and future generations. Beliau telah banyak menerima pengiktirafan dari badan-badan penganugerahan seperti Anugerah Skrin TV3, Shout Awards 8TV, Pesta Perdana MediaCorp, Asian Television Awards dan Asian Academy Creative Awards.

We are back with another instalment of the Cendekiawan Lestari series - Nusantara edition!

Our esteemed guest speaker this year is Faisal Ishak, a talented Singaporean filmmaker of blockbuster award winning movies, based for over a decade in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and director of GAYONG. Faisal will give us a glimpse into the creative process and the inspiration behind his films. The talk will be moderated by Izwan Othman from Berita Mediacorp.

Join us to get a behind-the-scenes perspective to Faisal’s work and how he blends historical narratives, artistic representation, and his portrayal of silat as a living enactment of cultural identity.
