CreativeMornings Singapore

CreativeMornings Singapore Everyone is creative. Join us on the last Friday of each month for a 20 minute talk, coffee, and new ideas ✨ Some have called it "TED for the rest of us".

Everyone is welcomed 💛

CreativeMornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series for anyone looking for a little inspiration and a big community. Design blogger, Tina Roth Eisenberg (http://swiss-miss.com/) started CreativeMornings in September of 2008 in New York City, wanting to create an accessible, inspiring morning event for people to meet. Monthly morning events are currently being hosted in more than 20 cities around the world.

Last week’s CreativeSocials left us with plenty to think about 💭

Competition can push us forward, challenge our assumptions, spark innovation – and sometimes even bring us closer together. It was fascinating to hear how the same theme took on such different meanings through the lived experiences of our speakers.

A huge thank you to former national athlete U.K. Shyam, Nurul Hussain (The Codette Project) Ivan Kuek (Stellar M) and Marisa Lee (THE WOLFPACK) for sharing your stories so openly, to Alma House for hosting us, to New Bahru for being our supporting partner, and to fresh accounting as our chapter sponsor!

To everyone who joined us – we loved being part of your conversations, and your sense of curiosity made the room feel so welcoming! The evening was a great reminder that while creativity isn't a competition, we're all made better by learning from one another 🤝🏼

CreativeSocials will be back in October, but our next CreativeMornings with Jonathan Tan is happening on Fri 31 July, 8.15am, at the New Bahru School Hall – where you can look forward to an inspiring talk, followed by a hands on session where you’ll get to play with Nerf blasters! Sign up via our link in bio and see you there 🔫

July’s global theme is COMPETENCIA. It was chosen by our Santiago chapter in Chile CreativeMornings/Santiago and illustrated by Valentina González Vale GV🟥🟡🔷 | Ilustradora.

The phrase “iron sharpens iron” means competing against the best makes us better. But your real competition is a past version of yourself.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for John Tung’s multifaceted talk on “Curate” 🎨

As an independent curator, John has a whole catalogue of stories, ranging from the time he almost got electrocuted when installing an exhibition, to how his team has had to dig through rubbish bins to recover works the cleaners accidentally threw away. Through it all, he reminds us that curation requires three things: research, care, and a point of view.

He also encourages us to be curious the next time we visit an exhibition and to ask ourselves: what are the stories the curator is trying to tell?

A big thank you to John for the perspective shift, to DJ Doddy for setting the perfect mood before the talk, and to our wonderful community for showing up with such thoughtful questions!

The full talk is now up on our website – check it out via our link in bio.

We can’t wait for independent curator John Tung’s John Savage talk at CreativeMornings this Friday!

But before that, we’re thrilled to have DJ Doddy Jyot Bhalla start our day off with some fun beats 🎶 Having played for Magik Monk, Zouk, and Twelve Degree, her sets fuse trance, techno and nostalgic South Asian sounds — rave culture made instantly familiar.

Come by from 8am to enjoy her set over complimentary tea, coffee, and pastries!

🕖: 8am - 10am
