Hon. Ranju Darshana Neupane has been elected to the Parliament of Nepal, representing Kathmandu-1 constituency, during the Nepal National Elections held last March 5, 2026.

Ms. Ranju has been a Fellow of the KASYP - Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians training programme - Batch 11 and currently a member of the Asian Democratic Leaders' Alliance (ADLA), the official alumni network of KASYP.

Tomorrow, 5 March 2026, Nepal is set to hold its general election for the House of Representatives. In this election, two (2) members of the Asian Democratic Leaders' Alliance (ADLA) will be contesting.

First, we have Ms. Ranju Darshana रन्जु दर्शना who is running for direct election representing Kathmandu-1 constituency under the Rastriya Swatantra Party - RSP. Ms. Darshana is an alumna of KASYP - Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians Batch 10.

Next are Ms. Sajina Karki and Ms. Kushbu Oli who are both from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party - राप्रपा. Ms. Sajina Karki is running for direct election representing Lalitpur-1 constituency, while Ms. Kushbu Oli is running for proportional representation. Ms. Karki is an alumna of KASYP - Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians from Batch 07, while Ms. Oli is currently a fellow of KASYP Batch 15.

📣ADLA Board 2026-2027 Introduction

Congratulations, Faisal Malik Buttar for being elected to the position of Vice-President for ADLA 2026-2027! 🎉

Faisal is the elected Vice President of Asian Democratic Leader’s Alliance (ADLA) since December 2025. He was the first elected Secretary General of ADLA from December 2020 to December 2025. Faisal is an alumnus of Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP) from batch-2 and also Country Representative of KASYP Pakistan chapter since 2019. Faisal is a friend of KAS and associated with KAS since 2009 and attended various workshops, conferences, summer school and other activities.

He is Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. He is Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan and a former Assistant Advocate General (AAG) Punjab, Pakistan. Faisal remained a member of the ‘Chief Minister Punjab’s Taskforce on Donor Engagement/Relations’ from February 2019 till April 2022. Currently, he is Provincial Coordinator Punjab of Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH for Parliamentary strengthening program namely Mustehkam Parlimaan-IP5 since December 2021. Faisal is also working as a Consultant with the World Bank Group since May 2025.

Faisal remained actively engaged in the development sector and had worked on several projects with different international organizations such as The World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), DAI Europe, British Council, Department for International Development, UK (DFID), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), Democracy Reporting International (DRI), UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), in the capacity(ies) of resident project coordinator/manager, consultant, resource person and advisor.
