On this International Day of Democracy, the Asian Democratic Leaders’ Alliance (ADLA) joins people around the world in reaffirming our shared commitment to democracy, freedom, human dignity, justice, good governance, and peace.

Democracy is more than elections. It is the continuous work of building societies where every person can participate, every voice can be heard, institutions are accountable, and leaders serve the public good.

As democratic leaders and advocates across Asia, we are reminded that democracy must be defended, strengthened, and renewed by every generation. In times of political uncertainty, social division, and growing challenges to democratic values, our commitment to dialogue, inclusion, integrity, and peaceful participation matters more than ever.

May we continue to bridge differences, empower responsible leadership, and build resilient democratic societies where freedom and dignity are protected and where no one is left behind.

The Asian Democratic Leaders’ Alliance (ADLA), the official alumni network of the Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians (KASYP), warmly congratulates Dr. Denis Suarsana on his appointment as the new Director of the Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS).

We warmly welcome Dr. Suarsana to this important role and look forward to working with him in strengthening political dialogue, democratic leadership, and regional cooperation across Asia.

As you conclude your term as Director of the Regional Programme Political Dialogue Asia of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable support and friendship.

Your leadership and commitment played a significant role in transforming the KASYP Alumni Network into the Asian Democratic Leaders’ Alliance (ADLA)—giving KASYP alumni an official juridical entity and a stronger platform to remain connected and continue advancing the values of democracy, good governance, sustainable development, and peace in the region.

Your support went beyond establishing an organization; you helped strengthen a community and a legacy that will continue to bring young leaders together across Asia.

Ms. Sajina Karki is a KASYP - Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians alumni from Batch 7 and previously held the position of Communications Secretary of the ADLA Executive Committee.

While, Ms. Kushbu Oli is a current fellow of KASYP - Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians Batch 15.

Hon. Ranju Darshana Neupane has been elected to the Parliament of Nepal, representing Kathmandu-1 constituency, during the Nepal National Elections held last March 5, 2026.

Ms. Ranju has been a Fellow of the KASYP - Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians training programme - Batch 11 and currently a member of the Asian Democratic Leaders' Alliance (ADLA), the official alumni network of KASYP.

Ranju, we wish a meaningful and impactful leadership journey in the service of Nepal! ✊💪🤞

Tomorrow, 5 March 2026, Nepal is set to hold its general election for the House of Representatives. In this election, two (2) members of the Asian Democratic Leaders' Alliance (ADLA) will be contesting.

First, we have Ms. Ranju Darshana रन्जु दर्शना who is running for direct election representing Kathmandu-1 constituency under the Rastriya Swatantra Party - RSP. Ms. Darshana is an alumna of KASYP - Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians Batch 10.

Next are Ms. Sajina Karki and Ms. Kushbu Oli who are both from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party - राप्रपा. Ms. Sajina Karki is running for direct election representing Lalitpur-1 constituency, while Ms. Kushbu Oli is running for proportional representation. Ms. Karki is an alumna of KASYP - Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politicians from Batch 07, while Ms. Oli is currently a fellow of KASYP Batch 15.
