The learning never stops for Toastmasters leaders!

Our District 80 Trio and District Leaders are heading to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to attend the Toastmasters International District Leader Training and the 2026 Toastmasters International Convention.

District Leader Training brings together leaders from around the world to exchange best practices, gain fresh perspectives, and strengthen the skills needed to better serve our members and clubs. Beyond the training, the International Convention offers a unique opportunity for global networking, inspiration, and learning from some of the finest communicators and leaders in the Toastmasters community.

As they embark on this exciting journey, we wish them safe travels and a rewarding experience. We look forward to the new ideas, valuable insights, and global connections they will bring back to District 80 to benefit our members and clubs.

Today, we spotlight 𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛— our 45th 𝐒𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬 in District 80.

1） 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫?

Our club aimed for 𝐒𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 this year for a few reasons.

Firstly, we saw the track record: we were President's Distinguished the past two terms (2023/2024 and 2024/2025), and that made us believe that we could meet the goals.

Secondly, we saw our member numbers grow: from 5 members in 2023 to 23 members in 2025, an upward trend that showed us potential.

Lastly, the team is ready: the club exco consisted of a good mix of new and experienced leaders, and with the support of our club advisors, we had the people to support this goal.

2）𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝?

One thing that helped our club achieve 𝐒𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 is planning ahead.

The Club Success Plan was an excellent exercise that helped us look ahead. With this foresight, we could then execute the necessary action in a timely fashion.

For instance, we counted the total number of speech slots needed for our members to fulfill their speech requirements within the club, so we planned an additional two Project Days. These Project Days gave us enough speaking slots for our members to complete their levels swiftly within the term.

The 𝐒𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 Award is the highest level in the Distinguished Club Membership Program.

Our club, Raffles Singapore Toastmasters Club had achieved a Perfect 10, earning all 10 DCP goals and achieving President's Distinguished Club status.

We were just two members away, so our entire EXCO and club members rallied together with one shared goal. It wasn't about the award alone—it was about teamwork, commitment, and growing a stronger club together.

2）𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝?

Our secret? We encouraged every member to bring a friend.

More importantly, we listened to each guest's goals and aspirations, then showed how Toastmasters could help them grow and achieve their dreams.

When people feel heard and supported, they don't just join a club—they become part of our Raffles' family.
