Our seniors traded their usual Thursday evening for a night at the Esplanade with homegrown singing legend Rahimah Rahim, with the support of the WeCare fund.

What made it truly special wasn't just the music. It was the atmosphere. Seniors from different backgrounds and walks of life, all swaying to the same songs, all part of the same amazing evening. It's a small reminder of what makes Singapore so rich: a multicultural society where our differences don't divide us, they add colour to moments like this one.

Before the curtain rose there was time to take in the skyline; after the final bow, even more time for group photos and linked arms. A big thank you to our volunteers and staff member for making it such a memorable evening. This is what active ageing looks like.

🎬 Lights, camera, memories! Seniors from our Tampines, Simei and MacPherson centres came together for a special outing to catch "Dear You (给阿嬷的情书)", the film that everyone's been talking about, at Jewel's Cinema theatre.

We booked out all 100 seats just for our seniors, staff and volunteers, and treated everyone to a hot dog bun to go with the show. 🌭

For many, it had been about five years since their last trip to the cinema and so this was a big deal! And because many of our seniors are Teochew themselves, the film struck a personal chord. Long after the credits rolled, they were still swapping stories about their own grandparents and ancestors who once made the journey to Nanyang and built new lives here.

A movie outing, but really, it was a bridge to memory, heritage and each other. 🇸🇬❤️

Our Aljunied centre literally got a full glow-up session recently! We had the privilege of hosting Pamela, a former Estée Lauder makeup artist, for a hands-on workshop covering skincare prep, facial techniques, and a live demo before everyone dove in themselves.

The best part? Watching decades of experience meet fresh curiosity 😍😍 our youths peppering Pamela with questions, swapping brushes, comparing looks in their mirrors, and cracking up at their own first attempts. Inter-generational learning doesn't get more fun than that.

Everyone walked away with fresh skills, new confidence, and a goodie bag to keep the glow going!

Huge thanks to Pamela for sharing her expertise, bringing so much positive energy, and creating such a great space for our youths.

Today, we officially opened Brahm Centre @ Labrador.

But an opening like this is about much more than a new space. It is about creating more places where people can slow down, meet others, and strengthen the inner resources needed to navigate life’s changes.

At Brahm Centre, we believe in a simple truth: people need people.

Whether it is a young person finding confidence for the road ahead, a working adult learning to respond differently to stress, a senior staying active and connected, or someone simply needing a supportive community around them, wellbeing grows when people know they do not have to navigate life alone.

We were honoured to mark this milestone with Senior Minister of State Tan Kiat How, our Patron Prof Choo Chiau Beng, our partners, donors, volunteers, colleagues and friends.

Today also marked another step forward in our partnership with Tan Tock Seng Hospital, as we signed an MOU to deepen opportunities for learning, volunteering and workplace exposure.

A new centre. More possibilities to connect, grow and flourish. 💜

✨🇸🇬 Celebrating Singapore's 61st Birthday Together! 🇸🇬✨

Brahm Centre and Brahm Centre-PCF Sparklecare AAC @ Simei 107 came together to celebrate National Day at Block 106, welcoming more than 200 seniors from the community, including over 40 wheelchair residents brought over by our Kindness Volunteers.

The morning opened with Nasi Lemak breakfast and games, then moved into performances that had the corridor clapping along. What stood out was how many seniors who don't usually get out were right in the middle of it all.

None of it happens without Ray, our volunteers, interns, ITE East student volunteers, and SG Cares volunteers, who came together to help bring the day to life for our seniors.

This is what community looks like. Majulah Singapura! 🇸🇬

We have a diverse team of staff. Kate suffered from harsh parenting which resulted in growing up feeling unsafe and traumatised.

The amygdala of the brain 🧠 can be severely affected by the stress due to threats. This can result being easily triggered by loud voices or demands perceived to be threatening.

Kate is aware and she has been applying mindfulness to regulate her “under siege” emotions, ie fear and anger. However, it’s not 100% that she is successful when her brain 🧠 over-reacts.

We agreed that it would be good for her to wear a badge for others to know. We are often unaware of the emotional suffering of others. The past is not an excuse but could be the reason. The knowledge of it helps us to be more mindful in moderating our approach towards people who are neurodivergent. At least we now have a term for it.

Guess what was cheering up the seniors at ?

Our AAC staff and Singapore volunteers co-hosted another fabulous carnival. The games encouraged eye 👁️ -hand 👋 coordination and ensured a good pump of endorphins, the happy hormones 🥳!

MP and advisor Tin Pei Ling 陈佩玲graced the event and her presence is always appreciated and loved 🥰 by the residents, especially the seniors.

Seniors enjoyed the atmosphere, performances, games and food - with heavy doses of serotonins and oxytocin, generated by laughter😂 and excitement 👍🏽

Thank you to the staff, Bank of America, volunteers, MacPherson Community Centre mgmt and staff for the support, and Cisco Singapore for sponsoring the prizes - healthy fruits! 💖💖💖

It takes a village to raise a child - it also takes a village to care for seniors 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 Thank you to Ministry of Health, Singapore and Agency for Integrated Care - AIC Singapore for providing the financial support to enable us to support seniors in ageing well!

Batik (Cold Wax) @ Simei 148

A full house at Simei 148 with 20 participants, one very patient set of paintbrushes, and a whole lot of colour. 🎨

In celebration of National Day, this Batik-Cold Wax session brought our seniors together to mix, paint and experiment, some picking up a paintbrush for the very first time. Under the guidance of our instructor Shirley, everyone learned the magic of custom colour-mixing, and it showed in the results: no two flowers came out the same.

Beyond the art, it's the focus and the chatter around the table that make these sessions special, a couple of hours where the only thing on anyone's mind is which shade of orange comes next.

We're already looking forward to August's session, which is full, waitlist and all. 😉

A big thank-you to the teams across all three Simei centres who made this one happen. Here's to many more afternoons like this.
