World of Safety & Health Asia - WSHAsia

World of Safety & Health Asia - WSHAsia World of Safety & Health Asia is the 1st Online Platform in Asia that is dedicated to OSH industry. Therefore in June 2014, an idea came to me. Thank you!

From The Founder;

In 2011, I was given a chance to represent an International Association in South East Asia. During my course of work and travels, I came across FREE safety guidelines and safety campaigns put up by many associations around the world. I had seen many great & brilliant safety products and services out there that are not being represented in this region. I had the opportunity to me

et up with regional occupational safety & health authorities and associations that have great guidelines to share. All this information I had received set me thinking that it would be great if I can share it with people who are interested. I decided to set up an online portal dedicated to workplace / occupational safety & health for Asia with my wife Ms Chris Tan and a good friend Ms Evelyn Low. I want to form an online guide that is self-sustainable. An online portal that gives back to the industry as a socially responsible business. WSHA Online Guide is dedicated to all safety professionals & safety advocators out there making our workplace safe and to everyone returning home safely after work. This online portal is different from the WSH Council website which is already very informative & very active in safety & health. However, as an official government website, there are restrictions on mentioning specific trademark, brands or organisation, etc in the articles or case studies. Therefore, this is also one of the reasons why I would like to create this portal for subject matter expert and safety & health manufacturers or providers to be able to write articles, white papers, case studies, etc and mention their brands, organisations, etc. What you will find here is news, articles, interviews, case studies, white papers & Events by industry stakeholders who provides or promotes safety & health. This is the first-ever online portal that focuses on bringing people together with FREE Membership. Creating an ecosystem that brings benefits to everyone. The Association:

Not-For-Profit Safety Associations will be able to gain free access into the Eco System to connects & benefits the community. This allows the associations to advocate their safety beliefs, guidelines & campaign. Associations will also be able to advertise all their events to the community at no cost at all! We presently have 5 international & local Associations supporting this meaningful online guide. The Private Entity:

The private entity of occupational safety & health products & services can list their company for FREE, show their products & services on pictures or videos, linked their website, job posting for safety professionals, present white paper, after-action review on real cases, share their news and sponsor banners in the community platform. Do contact us for your preferred sponsorship. The User:

As a member of the community, you can receive news from the industry, news on safety-related products & services, a job posting for safety professionals, special discount on products & services, information on safety events, discount on events or conference by other organization. WSHA Guide is so out of the book because this is the only online portal that operators like an association (FREE membership) and you will enjoy free news, articles, case studies, job posting, events and the best of all, discounts for events or products by our sponsors and supporting associations. The Market Place:

WSHAsia Market Place is another portal that brings the business opportunity to individuals & organisation on safety products & services that are looking for representation in this region. Bring New Safety Products & Services and Create Entrepreneurship in Asia. This is what WSHAsia Market Place is about. Market Place is a business to business platform specially designated for both overseas and local organisation, to introduce new safety & health products or services into Asia. There are thousands of new & great safety products & services out in the world that is not here yet! By featuring safety products and services that are not yet in Asia in this portal, gives individuals & organisations in Asia an opportunity to represent or achieve dealership for these interesting products & services. This perfect combination gives both parties a win-win situation. The Less Fortunate:

Our part to be a socially responsible business, ALL the banners & listings sponsorship received from the community, WSHAsia will contribute 10% of the sponsorship amount to our adopted charity: Light House Club (Singapore)

Everything Has Its Beginning:

As this online portal had just started, you will find it to be quite light at this moment. We are presently trying our best to put in more information. We welcome your feedback and most importantly we hope you will join us in our beginning. Warmest Regards,

Raymond Wat

Safety footwear standards are constantly evolving, but how often do we actually keep up with what’s changed?

The latest EN ISO 20345:2022 standard introduces key updates, especially in areas like slip resistance, where markings and requirements are no longer the same as before. What used to be familiar labels may not apply in the same way today.

Understanding these changes isn’t just technical, it directly impacts how well your footwear protects you at work.

Workplace safety has long focused on physical emergencies—but what happens when the crisis is psychological? In today’s workplaces, moments of emotional distress are just as real, yet many teams are unprepared to respond. With rising mental health risks and low utilisation of formal support systems, the first line of help is often a colleague—not a professional.

Psychological First Aid (PFA) shifts the approach from having the “right answers” to simply being present. By equipping individuals with the skills to listen, support, and respond early, organisations can prevent distress from escalating while fostering trust, openness, and a more psychologically safe environment.

As the definition of safety evolves, the ability to respond to both physical and psychological emergencies is becoming essential.

19/05/2026

Many people assume hearing loss only happens after long hours in a noisy environment. In reality, repeated exposure to high noise levels, even during short tasks can gradually affect your hearing over time. The risk depends on both noise level and duration of exposure. The louder the sound, the less time it takes to cause harm.

When these exposures happen regularly throughout the workday, the impact can build up without obvious warning signs. Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) often develops slowly, which is why it may go unnoticed until permanent damage has already occurred. This makes early prevention especially important.

Using the correct hearing protection device, ensuring a proper fit, and wearing it consistently during noisy tasks are key steps in reducing your risk.

Did you know?
🔥 52% of employees reported burnout in the past year
🧠 13% of workplace injuries may contribute to stress fatigue
🌍 7,600 global daily deaths are linked to occupational diseases rather than incidents

That’s why WSHAsia is bringing together industry experts for our upcoming online workshop:
