⛳️ SIET–SINDA CHARITY GOLF 2026 | DRIVE EDUCATION FORWARD 🎓

Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed.
But not every student can afford the journey.

For many deserving students from financially challenged families, pursuing post-secondary education comes with difficult choices. Tuition fees, transport, meals, learning resources and daily expenses can place significant pressure on families. Some students take on part-time work while studying, leaving less time and energy to focus on their education.

At the Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET), we believe that financial hardship should never stand in the way of a student's potential. For over 55 years, SIET has supported students through bursaries, interest-free study loans and financial assistance, helping them stay in school, complete their education and work towards meaningful careers and brighter futures.

The SIET–SINDA Charity Golf 2026 brings our community together with one purpose — to raise funds so deserving students can overcome financial barriers and realise their educational aspirations.

Some evenings leave you with a deep sense of pride, and the Singapore Tamil Teachers' Union's (STTU) 75th Anniversary Dinner on 17 July 2026 was certainly one of them.

SIET was honoured to be part of this milestone celebration, alongside educators, partners and friends who share a common commitment to Tamil language education. We were also privileged that the evening was graced by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

A key highlight for us was the signing of the MOU between SIET and STTU, marking the start of a meaningful partnership to support aspiring Tamil language teachers through financial assistance, mentorship and outreach.

We were also deeply grateful for STTU's generous $10,000 donation to SIET in celebration of its 75th anniversary, which was received by SIET Chairman, Mr Jayaprakash Jagateesan. This meaningful gesture reflects our shared commitment to investing in the future of Tamil education.

Congratulations, STTU, on 75 remarkable years. We look forward to building the future together.

We are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET) and Global EduShift to pilot a financial literacy programme for SIET-supported tertiary students.

This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to empowering youths with practical life skills that go beyond academic success. Through this initiative, students aged 17–25 will gain foundational knowledge in budgeting, CPF, investing, financial planning, and scam awareness — equipping them to make informed financial decisions with confidence.

At SIET, we believe education is not only about academic achievement, but also about preparing students for life. We thank Global EduShift for their partnership and look forward to creating meaningful impact for our students and community together.

We were also proud to witness the launch of Tekka.sg, a forward-looking platform that aims to connect, support and uplift businesses within the Tekka and Little India community.
