Happy Vesak Day 2026
Dear Bhantes, friends and fellow devotees🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
尊敬的法师们、护法居士们，以及各位朋友：
Thirty-six years ago, the Ruwan Buddhist Society was born out of the dedication and faith of supporters who rallied behind Venerable Somananda. It was their vision, their commitment, and their compassion that laid the foundation for what we have today. While we are fortunate that some of these pioneers are still with us, we also remember with gratitude those who are no longer here. Their contributions continue to echo in our work and in our practice.
三十六年前，如望佛学会在大家对Somananda法师的信心与支持下成立。正是前辈们的远见、奉献精神和慈悲心，为学会打下了今天稳固的基础。我们庆幸有些创会前辈至今仍与我们同行，也怀着感恩之心缅怀已经离开的前辈们。他们的付出和贡献，至今仍影响着我们的工作与修行。
Over the years, successive management committees have built upon this foundation. Each generation has refined our activities, strengthened our education programs, expanded our events, and improved our facilities. These efforts were never for prestige or recognition, but always for one common mission: to encourage devotees to step forward and practice the Dhamma.
这些年来，一届又一届的理事会在前人的基础上继续努力。他们不断完善学会活动，加强佛学教育，扩大弘法活动，并改善学会设施。这一切都不是为了名誉或荣耀，而是为了同一个目标——鼓励更多人学习佛法、实践佛法。
In recent years, we have been especially encouraged to see new members joining the management committees and taking on key roles in organizing events and supporting the day-to-day running of the Society. Their energy, dedication, and willingness to serve give us confidence that the Society will continue to grow and flourish for many many years to come. More importantly, they help strengthen our shared mission of walking the path taught by the Buddha and encouraging others to walk that path as well.
近几年，我们特别高兴看到越来越多新成员加入理事会，并承担筹办活动和管理学会的重要工作。他们充满活力、热心服务，为学会注入新的动力，也让我们对学会未来的发展充满信心。更重要的是，他们与我们一起实践佛陀的教导，并鼓励更多人走上这条修行之路。
The journey has not always been easy. Conditions have sometimes been difficult, and challenges have tested our resolve. Yet, through perseverance and faith, we have remained steadfast to our primary purpose — to practice and to propagate the Dhamma. This is the heart of our Society, and it is what binds us together.
学会的发展并非一帆风顺。一路上，我们曾面对各种困难和挑战。但凭着坚定的信念和不懈的努力，我们始终坚持学会最重要的使命——学习佛法、实践佛法、弘扬佛法。这也是学会的核心精神，更是把大家联系在一起的力量。
As many of you know, the right conditions are essential for anything meaningful to arise. In our case, we have worked tirelessly to create those conditions — conditions that allow and encourage each of you to come forward, to learn, to reflect, and to practice. Our encouragement is not expressed merely in words of praise or thanks. Rather, it is seen in your participation: in the growing number of devotees attending classes, joining events, and supporting our activities. Each act of involvement strengthens our collective affinity and deepens our shared practice.
大家都知道，任何有意义的事情，都需要具足因缘条件才能成就。多年来，学会一直努力创造良好的修学环境，让大家有机会学习、思考和实践佛法。我们对大家的鼓励，不只是停留在口头上的感谢和赞美，更体现在大家的积极参与上。无论是参加课程、参与活动，还是支持学会的发展，每一份付出都让我们的善缘更加深厚，也让我们的修行更加进步。
Today, as we look back with gratitude and forward with determination, let us remember that the Society is not just a committee or a building. It is a living community, shaped by the devotion of its members and guided by the timeless teachings of the Buddha. The more we practice together, the stronger our bonds become, and the more resilient our Society will be for years to come.
今天，当我们怀着感恩回顾过去，也满怀信心展望未来时，请大家记得：学会不仅仅是一个组织，也不仅仅是一栋建筑物。它是一个充满生命力的修行团体，由大家的发心与奉献共同成就，并以佛陀永恒的教导作为指引。我们一起修行得越多，彼此的联系就越深厚，学会也会变得更加稳固和长久。
So I invite all of you — whether you are long-time supporters or new friends — to continue walking this path with us. Let us honor the past, embrace the present, and create the right conditions for the future. Together, let us continue to walk in the footsteps of the Buddha, encouraging one another and inspiring others to do the same.
因此，我诚挚邀请大家，无论您是多年的护法朋友，还是刚加入的新朋友，都继续与我们同行。让我们感恩过去，把握现在，并共同创造未来的善因善缘。让我们继续追随佛陀的足迹，互相鼓励、互相支持，也帮助更多人走上正法之路。
May we cultivate wisdom, compassion, and harmony, and may the Ruwan Buddhist Society remain a beacon of Dhamma practice for many years ahead.
愿我们共同增长智慧、培养慈悲、促进和谐。愿鲁温佛学会继续成为弘扬佛法、实践佛法的明灯，利益更多众生。
