For Lynn Hermijanto, legacy is the imprint of love on the lives we touch and the possibilities we create together that outlive us.

Writing her father’s eulogy prompted a defining question: “When I am gone, what will my story tell?” After more than two decades in banking and investing, it deepened her conviction that wealth is entrusted to us: to restore dignity, expand agency and unite people in pursuit of lasting change.

Through the Mustard Seed Foundation, a donor-advised fund with CFS, Lynn supports women and young people whose circumstances have narrowed their choices. Alongside partners such as HCSA and TOUCH, she connects resources, relationships and shared purpose—planting seeds of possibility and nurturing their growth through collective action and enduring stewardship.

That conviction also drives Kita Bisa Collective: by pooling strengths and sharing responsibility, we can help make the unbankable bankable and open pathways to financial resilience and social mobility. Each life transformed holds the promise of change that reaches families, strengthens communities and continues across generations.

🌱 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗬𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲.

FY2025 was a milestone year for CFS. Some of the key highlights include:

💙 S$47.7 million in donations which will go to the community
💙 A record S$43.5 million in grants disbursed to nearly 300 charity partners
💙 A record 66 new donor-advised funds set-up

Beyond the numbers are the people and stories behind them — donors supporting the causes they care about, charities turning that support into action, and people and communities moving towards new possibilities.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵?

At Great Eastern Private’s 𝘈𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘤𝘺 event, CFS brought that question to life through the work of autistic artist Jun Le (junlefont 樂樂體), who created a calligraphy artwork of 传承 (legacy) on postcards shared with guests.

Art has helped Jun Le build confidence and connect with others. He now uses his talent to give back, including donating artworks for fundraising.

As Great Eastern Private’s philanthropy partner, CFS helps clients explore how their giving can continue to support the causes they care about and reflect the values they wish to pass on.

The character 传承 reflects the spirit of legacy giving: carrying generosity forward, inspiring others to give, and building a generous society where communities care and thrive. Thank you, Jun Le, for helping us bring this message to life and for reminding us that everyone has something valuable to contribute.

“𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿; 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝘂𝗻.”

This reminder from Chern Siang Jye, Assistant Chief Executive Officer of the Agency for Integrated Care (Singapore), captured an important idea at 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: as Singapore becomes a super-aged society, the conversation on longevity needs to go beyond healthcare and basic care needs.

At the panel "𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘌𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮: 𝘈𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭, 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯 𝘈𝘨𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘦", Siang Jye joined Timothy Liu, Chief Executive Officer of the Society for the Aged Sick, in a conversation moderated by our CEO Paul Tan.

One question stood out: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲?

Needs such as social connection, autonomy and dignity may not always fit neatly within public funding frameworks. Yet they have a profound impact on the quality of life.

While public funding provides the foundation for essential services and infrastructure, philanthropic capital can create room to 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 — from reducing social isolation to helping seniors remain active, connected and engaged in their communities.

Not every pilot will succeed. But without experimentation, there can be no innovation and we risk building systems that help people live longer without fully addressing what it means to live well.

The opportunity is not for philanthropy to work alone, but alongside charities, businesses and communities, bringing different forms of capital, expertise and perspectives together to address gaps and explore what could work better.

At CFS, we see philanthropy as more than funding. By connecting donors and philanthropic capital with community needs, promising ideas and the partners who can bring them to life, we can help catalyse solutions to some of Singapore’s most pressing social challenges.

A new chapter for CFS 💙

After more than seven years of dedicated service, Christine Ong steps down as Chairperson of the Community Foundation of Singapore, as we 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗺 𝗬𝗶 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻.

Since 2019, Christine has guided CFS through an important period of growth and transformation. Throughout her time here, she has championed her belief that philanthropy is the “love of humanity.”

We are deeply grateful to Christine for her leadership, wisdom and generosity of spirit.

Yi Young has been part of CFS’ journey since 2022, bringing extensive experience across the public, private and community sectors, along with a deep understanding of CFS. We are excited for what we can achieve together under his leadership as we enter our next chapter.
