True Colours Foundation is a non-profit organisation driven by people with the common goal of helping victims of road traffic accidents to regain the self-confidence to rebuild their lives. True Colours aim to build a network of friends/volunteers to help create a strong support group geared towards helping people, particularly athletes who have been injured in road traffic accidents, and providin
g support for their loved ones. True Colours have ambassadors who have overcome major physical trauma and challenges to participate and compete in local and international events despite unfavourable clinical prognoses. These amazing individuals are available for school talks, motivational speeches and small group consultations.
'True Colours' was the chosen name because, inspired by the song, everyone has a someone (or many someones) that mean the world to them. We know that they only need to call us up and we will be there for them. In times of darkness, we "'see the true colours shining through, and that's why (we) love (them)." This Foundation is the dream of a triathlete who had the unfortunate meeting with a near-fatal road traffic accident. She lived, by the will of God, while many others died and thus been given the opportunity and duty to share her story so that she may help bring out the true colours of humankind. As a very wise and loving person once said to her, "In the end, only people matter."
