Welcome to Junior Achievement SINGAPORE Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

JA Worldwide (www.jaworldwide.org) is the world’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. JA’s unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students. Embodying the heart of JA, our 384,925 classroom volunteers transform the key concepts of our lessons into a message that inspires and empowers students to believe in themselves, showing them they can make a difference in the world.

It is hard for young people to imagine a career they have never seen. And often, the person who helps them see it first is an educator.

That is why industry exposure for educators matters.

Together with ExxonMobil Singapore, Junior Achievement Singapore supported a STEM Learning Journey for lecturers and staff from ITE College Central, giving them first-hand exposure to Singapore’s energy and petrochemicals industry through career sharing, interactive exhibits, immersive experiences and a tour of Jurong Island.

The feedback from educators showed just how valuable that exposure can be.

Many shared that they came away with a better understanding of Singapore’s energy industry, new insights into career opportunities, and knowledge they could bring back to their students. One educator summed it up simply: “𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴.”

Others highlighted something equally important — the chance to learn directly from industry experts and access places and experiences that the public rarely gets to see.

A big thank you to ExxonMobil Singapore and everyone who made this Learning Journey possible.

Because sometimes, opening a young person’s eyes to what is possible starts by opening a door for their teacher first.

We’re gearing up for the Singapore Finals of the JA WE Challenge (Waste-to-Energy) 2026 – Powering Our Future from Waste!

Last weekend, our Top 12 teams came together in person for a Pitch & Presentation Workshop to prepare for the next stage of the Challenge.
The session focused on what students should cover in their pitch, how to structure their key messages, and how to deliver an effective and impactful presentation with confidence.

A big thank you to our mentors for continuing to guide and support the teams, sharing their experience and helping students sharpen their ideas and presentations ahead of the Singapore Finals.

We’re looking forward to seeing the Top 12 teams take the stage!

We’re grateful to be recognised at the 2026 Awards

JA Singapore received the US250 Corporate Excellence Award – SME & Others Category, while our Founder & Executive Director, Hau Yee Ng, received an Honorable Mention for the Regional Business Catalyst Award.

We were also honoured to have the awards presented by Mr Heng Swee Keat, Chairman of the National Research Foundation and former Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore.

For a small team like ours, this recognition means a great deal — and reflects the support of our Board, partners, schools, educators, volunteers and supporters who help us create more opportunities for young people.

Recently, JA Singapore and ACCA launched the first 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗔 × 𝗝𝗔 𝗘𝗦𝗚 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨: 𝙀𝙎𝙂 – 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙, at ITE College Central.

We were delighted to welcome 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱, Chief Executive of Global 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗔, to Singapore for the launch.

Through interactive discussions and activities, students explored topics such as the circular economy, fair wages and ethical decision-making — and considered what ESG means for them personally: the choices they make as consumers, the companies they may work for one day, and the kind of world they want to help shape.

♻️ The Top 12 are in!

Congratulations to the teams advancing to the Mentorship Phase and Singapore Finals of the JA WE Challenge 2026 — “Powering Our Future from Waste.”

In this inaugural challenge, students explored how waste can be transformed into energy and developed ideas that could make a difference in their schools and communities.

The Top 12 teams will now work with mentors and take part in a Pitch & Presentation Workshop as they prepare for the Singapore Finals. At the Finals, three teams will be selected to represent Singapore at the JA WE Challenge Asia Pacific Grand Finals.

Congratulations to our Top 12 👏 and thank you to every team that took part and submitted an idea.

How do young people begin to see themselves as entrepreneurs?

Sometimes, it starts with being given the space to explore an idea—and having mentors who encourage them to take it further.

As part of the global partnership between Euroclear Foundation and Junior Achievement, Junior Achievement Singapore brought together 134 students from ITE College East and 16 volunteers—nine from Euroclear and seven from JA Singapore—for an Entrepreneurship & Innovation Day.

Over three academic years, the partnership aims to reach 20,000 underserved young people across 14 countries, including Singapore, through financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work-readiness programmes.

At ITE College East, this shared commitment came to life through a hands-on introduction to entrepreneurship and design thinking, followed by a mini-hackathon focused on sustainability challenges. Students worked in teams to understand users’ needs, define a problem, brainstorm solutions and develop their ideas.

With guidance from volunteer mentors, students refined their solutions and pitched their ideas to Euroclear’s senior leaders, putting their creativity, teamwork and communication skills into practice.

Student feedback reflected a growing belief that entrepreneurship is not limited by age or experience. As one student shared:

“Anyone can have a good idea and make a business out of it.”

Thank you to Euroclear Foundation, the Euroclear and JA Singapore volunteers, and ITE College East for creating an environment where students could experiment, learn from feedback and discover new possibilities for their future.

Junior Achievement Singapore is honoured to receive the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗢𝗹𝗱𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), recognising our longstanding partnership and contribution to the school.

For the past 𝟭𝟳 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, we have worked together to give students opportunities to learn beyond the classroom — through entrepreneurship, work-readiness, STEM programmes, career exposure and real-world learning experiences.

Today, we celebrate the educators who inspire, encourage and open doors for young people every day.

At Junior Achievement Singapore, we are privileged to work alongside teachers who create opportunities for students to explore beyond the classroom — from entrepreneurship and financial literacy to career readiness and future skills.

We are also grateful to the many mentors and volunteers who work alongside educators, sharing their experience and helping students connect what they learn with the real world.

Together, these learning experiences help young people build confidence, discover their potential and imagine what is possible for their future.

What do young people across Asia Pacific — 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 — say they need to feel ready for the future of work?

A new study by 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗘𝘅 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗔 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 surveyed more than 𝟰,𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝟭𝟬 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀.

Two findings stood out:

🔹 𝟵𝟳% 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀.
🔹 𝟴𝟰% 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗜, but only 𝟲𝟮% 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

For us in Singapore, this reinforces the importance of helping young people 𝗴𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 — applying knowledge, solving real-world problems and building confidence for the future.

From waste to possibility.

On 22 August, 70 students took the first learning step in the inaugural JA WE Challenge (Waste-to-Energy) 2026, joining our online Energy 101 & Design Thinking Workshop.

Under the theme “Powering Our Future from Waste”, students are being challenged to explore how everyday waste can be transformed into practical, scalable and sustainable energy solutions for schools or communities.

During the workshop, participants built their understanding of key energy concepts and explored how design thinking can help them identify problems, develop ideas and shape potential solutions for their target users - laying the foundation for the next stage of the Challenge.

Now, the ideas begin to take shape. Teams will develop and submit their solutions by 5 September, with the Top 12 progressing to mentorship and a Pitch & Presentation Workshop before the Singapore Finals in October. The Top 3 teams will ultimately represent Singapore at the JA WE Challenge Asia Pacific Grand Finals during Singapore International Energy Week.

A big thank you to aramco, Dr. Dr Leslie Anne L. Yasis for leading the Energy 101 session, Christopher Furness for leading the Design Thinking session, as well as our educators and all the students who joined us for this first step of the journey.
