Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Alhamdulillah, while in Makkah, I had the pleasure of meeting our four Singapore representatives who took part in the 46th King Abdulaziz International Quranic Memorisation Competition.
Our representatives were among the finalists of the 2025 Musabaqah Tilawah, Tahfiz and Tadabbur Al-Quran (MTTTQ) in Singapore. Through an invitation from the Saudi organisers and with the support of the Office of the M***i, it was heartening to see them take the next step in their Quranic journey on the international stage, alongside more than 300 participants from over 130 countries.
Listening to them share their experiences, I was touched by the sincerity, discipline and determination that brought them to this point. Behind every verse they have committed to memory are years of perseverance, countless hours of revision and the unwavering support of their families, teachers and mentors.
It is only natural to hope to win when we enter a competition. But what matters just as much is the excellence we bring to our effort, how sincerely we prepare, how much we learn and how we grow through the experience. Whatever the outcome, reaching this stage and representing Singapore among Quran memorisers from around the world is already something they can be proud of.
I hope their journey inspires more young people in Singapore to deepen their connection with the Quran, not only through memorisation, but also through understanding, reflection and living by its teachings.
May Allah s.w.t. accept their efforts, bless the knowledge and experiences they have gained and continue to guide them in their journey with the Quran.
