Yeung Ching Scout Open Group - YCSOG The scout unit relocated to the current school compound of Yangzheng Primary School (YZPS), at Serangoon Avenue 3 in 1988. YCSOG is not just an organization.

Yeung Ching Scout (Open) Group, also known as YCSOG, is a group of ex-YZPS/Yeung Ching School students who come back together after their graduations to keep the passion of Scouting alive. Yeung Ching Scout (Open) Group is set up in 1954 as part of the scout group affiliated to Yeung Ching School (now Yangzheng Primary School), which was formerly located in Chinatown. YCSOG is also attached to the

Yeung Ching Scout (Open) Group Lion & Dragon Dance Troupe. Every Yeung Ching Scout is encouraged to take up the skill of Lion & Dragon dancing as part of the Troupe. Weekly, veterans of YCSOG would take time off from their personal schedules to train the Scouts to be skilled young Lion Dancers. The Troupe strives to preserve the traditional culture of Lion and Dragon Dancing while promoting a healthy lifestyle to the youths. YCSOG is not just an ordinary Scout Unit. YCSOG is family.

Our planning team is working on an exciting new project to introduce students to the Scouting CCA through hands-on activities. We are building a simple pioneering bridge for a river-crossing challenge and setting up a basic campsite, allowing students to experience the fun, adventure, and teamwork that Scouting has to offer.
We hope this interactive experience will inspire more students to discover and join the Scout movement.

It's a wrap for the June school holidays!
Our Scouts and Young Leaders came together to plan an exciting lineup of activities for the rest of the year. Before the new school term began, we gathered at Sentosa on 21 June for a fun-filled day of outdoor games, teamwork, and fellowship.

Now, we're looking forward to our next Sports Fiesta in the coming months. In the meantime, preparations are well underway to welcome our visiting Scouts from Hong Kong on 26 July. We can't wait to reconnect, share experiences, and create more memorable adventures together.

Here's to another exciting and meaningful season of Scouting!

Our scout group had an amazing time in Jeju from 18–22 December during a friendship exchange with the 405th Saemmul Scout Group. We were deeply honored to be invited to attend their 32nd anniversary on 20 December. 🎉. Met their Group Scout Leaders, Adult Leaders as well as some of their founders during their celebration.

One of the highlights of the trip was climbing Mount Hallasan, the highest peak in South Korea, together with our Jeju scout friends on 21 December. 🏔️ This meaningful adventure was also part of our unit’s “A Year, A Mountain（一年一座山）” initiative.

Grateful for the friendship, memories, and shared scouting spirit! 🤝🌍

On 28th November, we organised a visit to the newly renovated Scout History Gallery at HQ. It was a meaningful learning experience, especially for our new Scouts. A big thank-you to Nicholas for hosting us, guiding the group through the gallery, and providing an engaging introduction to both global Scouting heritage and the history of Scouting in Singapore. His sharing helped our younger members appreciate the rich traditions, milestones, and values that have shaped the movement over the year.

On 23rd November, we held a Scout meeting at school to prepare for our upcoming hiking expedition to Hallasan on Jeju Island on 21st Dec 2025. This reflects our unit's “一年一座山” objective — one mountain each year — and this year's challenge, we will be climbing Hallasan Mountain, which is 1,947m, the highest point on Jeju Island.

The session brought together excitement, preparation, and the prospect of cross-cultural friendship, laying a strong foundation for an upcoming unforgettable adventure.
