Belle Koh (YPHSL Year 1) knew she wanted to be a lawyer since the age of six. Life had other plans — but so did one generous donor.

Belle's road to law was not the one she had envisioned. When an unexpected sports injury forced her off a path that once seemed straightforward, she spent two years finding her own way back. She eventually arrived at the SMU Yong Pung How School of Law and was awarded the Dato' Kho Hui Meng Scholarship’

Receiving the scholarship brought more colours into Belle's life than she had ever anticipated. From a scholars' bootcamp in Bintan to pursuing independent research at Oxford, and meeting Dato' Kho, these experiences gave Belle a valuable insight: the belief that she could chart a path entirely her own.
