From young learners to young entrepreneurs.

At the Y Junior Entrepreneurship programme, students from YMCA Student Care brainstorm ideas and create products using recycled materials.

This year, students from YMCA Student Care Centre @ St Anthony's crafted bath bombs using ingredients, such as Epsom salts and essential oils.

The programme culminated in a sales fair, where students gained hands-on experience in marketing and selling their products to the public.

Beyond entrepreneurship, the programme encourages creativity, collaboration, problem-solving skills, and social responsibility. Proceeds from the sales fair will be channelled to the YMCA Lend A Hand (YLAH) Fund, supporting at-risk children with financial assistance, supervision and care while their caregivers deal with personal and financial challenges.

At YMCA of Singapore, we believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. Through these programmes, we empower children to develop confidence from young, discover their potential and create a positive impact in their communities.

The Y Sport Stacking competition was held at YMCA of Singapore on 5 June 2026, bringing together over 168 students from YMCA Student Care for a day of friendly competition, teamwork and personal growth.

Competing across individual, doubles, head-to-head relay categories, participants demonstrated focus, perseverance and collaboration while building meaningful connections with peers from across the YMCA community.

Congratulations to the students from YMCA Student Care Centre @ St Anthony’s for clinching 1st place in the Head-to-Head Relay category. Hear from the young champions as they share their experience and what achievement means to them.

Beyond the excitement of competition, the Y Sport Stacking Competition reflects YMCA's commitment to nurturing the holistic development of children. Through such platforms, participants develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, and sportsmanship. These are valuable skills that extend beyond the classroom and into their everyday lives.

As we celebrate YMCA Day on 6 June, we join the global YMCA movement in reflecting on our shared mission to empower young people, strengthen communities, and create a more inclusive and sustainable world for all.

Since 1902, YMCA of Singapore has journeyed alongside youths and children by providing safe spaces, meaningful experiences, mentorship, and opportunities to learn, serve, and grow with confidence and hope for the future.

As our General Secretary and CEO, Ms Wu Mei Ling, shared, being future-ready is not only about skills and knowledge, but also about nurturing young people who care deeply for their communities, the environment, and the connections around them.

Guided by YMCA Vision 2030, YMCA of Singapore continues to integrate sustainability into youth and children’s development through community initiatives, creation care education, volunteering opportunities, mentoring, and cross-cultural service-learning experiences.

From learning about environmental stewardship across our centres, to building meaningful friendships and connections through shared experiences, every journey helps shape compassionate individuals who are ready to contribute positively to society.

When communities flourish, we flourish together.

This YMCA Day, we celebrate every young person, volunteer, staff member, partner, and supporter who serves with purpose, compassion, and hope.
Together, as we shape our young people, we shape our future.
