In 2023, SAC CEO Peshawaria's book made waves in the sustainability space when he countered the beliefs of prominent economists like Adam Smith and Milton Friedman, suggesting that businesses can be both profitable and purposeful.

In a practical, step-by-step playbook for any commercial entity, Sustainable Sustainability lays out a framework with steward leadership at its core, guiding readers through the creation of a win-win-win future for stakeholders, society, and the environment.

For those who favour auditory over visual learning, Sustainable Sustainability is now available as an audiobook on Audible, Google Play, and other major streaming platforms. Click the links below to take a listen!

SAC's Peshawaria and Soh had the privilege of attending the 2026 Global Wealth and Legacy Week, a multi-day conference in Zhuhai, China, that brought together a carefully-vetted circle of participants across the business sphere, organised by the Asian Family Legacy Foundation.

During this retreat-style programme, Rajeev, along with other impactful figures, had the honour of being selected as a keynote speaker to deliver a speech on unlocking lasting success, genuine happiness, and the kind of leadership that endures. His key insight contributed to and strengthened the programme's main goal of facilitating dialogue on the responsibilities and meaning of generational legacy.

SAC is truly grateful to have been apart of such an important conversation with other distinguished leaders and steward leaders that will positively shape the direction of purposeful capital for the future.

In December 2021, Typhoon Rai struck Siargao Island, affecting over 170,000 people, many of whom are still recovering from the typhoon’s devastating impacts. The disaster underscored the urgent need for enhanced early warning systems, and more localised disaster preparedness measures.

That’s where Komunidad comes in. As Allister Ayque, Chief Operating Officer of Komunidad, states, the goal of Komunidad was to consolidate information regarding natural disasters to enhance localised responses. By leveraging a data-driven approach, the project integrated environmental insights, early warning systems (EWS) and mobile platforms to ensure efficient information dissemination, equipping local communities with advanced climate tools to enhance resilience.

Since its founding, the project has equipped 219 municipal leaders, risk officers and responders across nine Siargao municipalities—including 148 women—with automated hazard analysis and early warning tools via web and mobile apps, email reports and SMS alerts, ensuring preparedness across the region.

"There's no clear policy guiding renewables for decentralised energy access."
Sandra Liz Hon of Energy puts it plainly: the technology is ready, but the policy hasn't caught up.

When procurement frameworks are built for conventional solutions, innovative OpEx models get left out of the conversation. Shifting that requires governments to think on a longer horizon, and champions willing to push for it.

Click the link below to hear how Sandra is navigating these gaps to bring clean, hydrogen-powered energy to rural communities in her insightful conversation in the latest episode of the Maximum Purpose Maximum Profit podcast.

Autism is a lifelong neuro-developmental condition that affects approximately 1 in 150 people worldwide. Yet, many struggle to find opportunities that accommodate their needs, placing the burden on their caregivers to provide for them.

BlueAcres, a pioneering aquaponics & soil-based edible farm, partnered with Saint Andrew’s Autism Centre to both create employment opportunities for people with autism (PWAs) as well as address labour shortages in the farming industry.

By creating an inclusive work environment, PWAs were given the opportunity to acquire valuable farming skills, enhancing the quality of life for both their employees and their caregivers. As of March 2024, PWAs at BlueAcres accounted for approximately 10% of the workload. With their strong mission and steward leadership values, BlueAcres hopes to increase this number to 30%.

Every day, the equivalent of $6.7 million worth of food is wasted in Singapore, though much of it is still fit for redistribution and reuse for human and non-human consumption and other uses. This represents not only a significant loss of natural resources and a contributor to rising carbon emissions, but a missed opportunity to support communities and thousands of families across the island who face cost-of-living pressures.

D2L.sg, a Singapore-based social enterprise, is addressing these challenges together.
Through their data and tech-powered Food Surplus & Waste Recovery Programme, food surplus is systematically matched with and redistributed to families in need, while non-edible waste is channelled to animal feeders, shelters, upcyclers, homesteaders, educators, gardeners in the community, and other offtakers who can give them second lives for community benefit. The result, as founder Lin QingHui describes it, is a truly regenerative solution — one that simultaneously maximises social and environmental impact, co-creating circularity with community.

In February 2023 alone, D2L.sg recovered 20,867kg of food surplus and waste, provided support to 1,002 families, and saved approximately $248,318. Their astounding impact has been recognised through SAC’s annual SL25 awards, an annual initiative recognising 25 financially viable, high-impact solutions to environmental and social challenges across Asia and the Pacific.

Seafood is extremely popular in the Asia Pacific region. However, unsustainable fishing practices have led to the collapse of ocean ecosystems overtime.

To tackle this, Witteveen+Bos has created an artificial oyster reef fuelled by discarded oyster shells from restaurants. With this community-led, nature-based solution consisting of over 1,000 participants, 130 kilograms of discarded shells have been turned into a living seawall that now supports three times more species. Jaïr Smits, Global Nature+ lead, notes the significant increase in marine biodiversity as a result of the initiative In Singapore, where 70% of the coast is hardened, this improvement is extremely significant to improving overall ocean health.

If nature or community are at the forefront of your business solutions, we want to hear from you.
