On 29 July, BFSU held a member engagement session with HSBC employees, providing members with a better understanding of our union, the support available to them, and how BFSU represents their workplace interests.

The session also gave members the opportunity to raise questions, share their concerns, and engage directly with the union.

On 27 July, BFSU was pleased to collaborate with NTUC Youth at FinTech Youth Day 2026, held at SIM Campus.

It was a meaningful opportunity for BFSU and NTUC Youth to engage with young participants, understand their career concerns and share useful guidance as they prepare to enter the workforce.

As part of the programme, BFSU conducted a workshop titled “Before You Sign: What Every First Jobber Should Know”, led by Brother Herjeet Singh. The session equipped young participants with practical knowledge on what to look out for before signing an employment contract, helping them better understand their workplace rights and make informed decisions as they begin their careers.

Thank you to SFYC and SIM for the warm welcome and for providing a valuable platform to connect, exchange insights and support the next generation of FinTech talent.

On 23 Jul, BFSU organised an AI training programme for our delegates to strengthen their AI capabilities and learn practical ways to apply these tools at work.

Delegates experimented with different prompting techniques, refined their inputs, and saw how prompt quality directly shapes AI-generated outputs. The programme also covered responsible AI use, including what should never be entered into public AI tools and why all AI-generated outputs require human review.

AI is changing the workplace. BFSU is committed to ensuring our delegates are equipped to harness these technologies, support workers through change, and stay ahead of industry developments.

BFSU is pleased to have hosted our 2nd Ordinary Convention of Delegates (OCD), bringing together our union leaders and delegates to reflect on our progress and look ahead to the future.

We are grateful to all our leaders and delegates for their continued dedication to supporting and representing our members across the banking and financial services sector.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to our advisors, Patrick Tay, Janil Puthucheary, and Victor Lye, for taking the time to join us at our OCD and for their continued support of BFSU.

Congratulations to NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng on his appointment to Cabinet.

Through his engagements with unions and workers, he has consistently demonstrated a genuine commitment to understanding workers' concerns and strengthening support for them.
