Exciting news!

We are pleased to announce a new workshop - our beginner friendly workshop for those who always wanted to know more about mobile phone repairs.
This is a trial class for 2 hours to give you a flavour of Do It Yourself fixes for your phone.
Date: 8 August 2026, from 1pm to 3pm

Have you often wondered if your phone is repairable or what to do when your phone starts to act up? Or you may want to revive that old phone sitting in your drawer. This is the experience we have designed for you. You will be led by our experienced trainer to do disassembly, diagnosis and simple fixes over the course of 2 hours. The workshop fee of $10 gives you a rewarding experience plus a tool kit to take home.

🔌 Learn a new skill – We'll show you how to safely rewire a foreign plug into a UK standard BS1363 3-pin plug. A surprisingly handy life hack!

🛠️ Use our public-access workshop tools – Need to fix something? You're welcome to use our bench tools for your own repairs (subject to availability aMaster practical fixes – Brush up on basics like soldering a wire or even spot welding a battery** with our guidance.

🗣️ Chat with our volunteers – They're the heart of this place and love sharing stories, tips, and know-how.

🛠️ COMMUNITY CABINET BUILD – TWO SESSIONS THIS WEEKEND! (Short Notice!)

Hey everyone! We're working on a new community build project - 4 2 doors cabinet for our workshop and need 6 new volunteers to join the team.

We have two sessions available :

📅 Session 1: Saturday, 11/7 – 10am to 4pm
📅 Session 2: Sunday, 12/7 – 10am to 4pm

⚠️ We know this is super short notice, so we truly appreciate anyone who can make it! Also, this project may stretch across a few weekends, so do let us know your availability for the coming weeks too when you sign up.

Installing
Clean up

No experience needed..

Spots are limited to just 6 volunteers total, so if you're keen:

You will need to be in proper attire - covered shoes, long hair tied and bundle up. bring your own work gloves （no gloves when operating machines）

What a fantastic DIY Drone class yesterday! 🚁

Our DIY Basics Workshop – Build Your Own Drone was completely sold out, and the workshop was packed with curious questions, excitement, and plenty of laughter. Participants got hands-on building their own drones from scratch, learning the basics of electronics, assembly, and how these flying machines actually work.

From first-time builders to curious tinkerers, it was great to see everyone dive in, help one another, and celebrate those first successful flights.

Workshops like this remind us why we love doing what we do at the Community Workshop @ VidaCity — bringing people together to **learn, build, and explore technology in a fun, hands-on way.**
