Thank you to everyone who joined us for Press to Pause last month. It was so good to see everyone embody their forest adventure with such vulnerability during the Art Jam.

Press to Pause is a monthly art series presented by Proud Spaces and SAFE, facilitated by Radha, an artist and SAFE parent. Together, we're creating a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to slow down, connect with one another, and explore creativity through nature-inspired themes.

Our Earth series continues on 29 August, 2–4pm. Join us as we draw forest friends and explore some qualities we can learn from them.

Everyone deserves access to trusted legal guidance, but having a place to start can often be an obstacle.

We're happy to announce that we have launched the Proud Spaces Legal Clinic β€” a free legal consultation service where you can speak one-on-one with a volunteer lawyer in a confidential, low-pressure environment.

Our volunteer lawyers include members of the LGBTQIA+ community who understand the legal issues that many in our community navigate. Whether your question is LGBTQ-specific or not, you'll be met with empathy, respect, and practical guidance to help you better understand your options.

The Legal Clinic is endorsed by Pro Bono SG and presented by Proud Spaces as part of our community development work, which focuses on strengthening social impact ecosystems through community initiatives and capacity building.

For this edition of our Storyteller Series, we are honoured to welcome Mr. Ho Kwon Ping, Executive Chairman of the Banyan Group and Founding Chairman of the Singapore Management University. Mr. Ho will be in conversation with Clarence Singam and Rachel Yeo, ExCo members of Proud Spaces. Together, they will explore the intersections of allyship and civic participation.

Drawing from Mr. Ho's personal journey from his early experiences with activism, to his continued leadership in business, and his engagement with public discourse & civil society, the conversation will reflect on how convictions evolve over time, and what responsibilities individuals have in shaping a more inclusive society.

More than a cooking class, this is an invitation to gather around a table and explore what food can tell us about who we are.

Together, we'll discover the traditions behind nasi ulam through its native herbs, flavours, and philosophy. Along the way, we'll engage our senses, share stories, and reflect on identity, belonging, and the ways food connects us to people, place, and culture.

Join us for an evening of exploration, creation, and sharing a meal together.

A moving anthology of real Singaporean LGBTQ+ lives, this new volume looks at the many ways q***r people nurture, love and create families here: the families we are born into, the families we choose, and the families we build in a system that is not always built for us.

Bring a friend, bring your family, and meet the people whose stories are commemorated in SQ21. Refreshments provided.

You can buy a copy of the book at the launch! All proceeds will go towards supporting Proud Spaces πŸ’œ

We're proud to be home to Dear Mum & Dad – Letters from the Heart, an exhibition by R. Radha, artist and SAFE parent. Inspired by the conversations that often remain unspoken between LGBTQ+ people and their families, the exhibition invites us to reflect on love, acceptance, and the desire to be seen as our fullest selves.

As you make your way through the postcards, we invite you to leave a response of your own. Whether it's a few words or a letter, your contribution becomes part of the exhibition and the conversation that continues to grow.

Drop by Proud Spaces and spend some time with the stories, and perhaps leave one of your own.

On 18 June, we welcomed a full house to our screening of Brokeback Mountain at Filmhouse Cinema. From longtime fans to first-time viewers, it was heartening to experience this landmark film together across generations of q***r people and allies. A special thank you to everyone who embraced the cowboy theme, and to our wonderful panellists for sharing their reflections on the film's lasting impact 20 years on.

We're also incredibly grateful to our sponsor, NBCUniversal, and our venue partner, Filmhouse, for helping make this evening possible. Thank you for supporting a night of film, conversation, and community 🌈
