Happy 61st National Day, Singapore!

To our groundup community, you turn "someone should do something" into "we did something", and that spirit is quietly shaping the Singapore we all love.

Thank you for building a stronger, kinder Singapore, one initiative at a time.

From prompts to purpose 🤖

Last week’s AI for Groundups workshop went beyond learning the basics of GenAI tools. Putting effective prompting techniques into practice, participants explored how AI can be applied across six key aspects of running a groundup: grant writing, fundraising, partnerships, impact measurement, volunteer management, and programme management.

A huge thank you to Cognizant for leading this workshop, sparking conversation and sharing practical insights on how GenAI can support the impact of groundups meaningfully and responsibly.

To every groundup that joined us, we hoped that you would be able to see GenAI more than just a productivity tool partner, but also as a thinking partner that can be used to tackle everyday challenges, uncovering new opportunities and creating greater impact in your communities, all the while being used responsibly with care🤝🫶

Dinner, dialogue, and a whole lot of honest conversation.

Last week's Ask-Me-Anything session brought groundups face-to-face with
representatives from MCCY's Singapore Government Partnerships Office, National Youth Council, and National Parks Board – and the questions didn't hold back.

The conversation moved through funding decisions, how to identify the right
agency for a given partnership, and what it actually takes to get heard within the system. What stood out wasn't just the practical guidance, but the willingness on both sides to speak candidly.

We're grateful to our three panellists for their time and openness, huge thanks to:
→ Mr Jeevaraj Suppiah, Our SG – Home of Forward SG (MCCY)
→ Mr Shawn Wong, National Youth Council Singapore
→ Mr Naufal Khan Surattee, NParks

To every groundup who showed up ready to engage, sessions like this are a
reminder that the people shaping policy and the people doing on-the-ground
work are often just one good conversation away from working together! 🤝

Led by Cognizant volunteers, this hands-on workshop gives you guided practice with GenAI tools, applied directly to the writing, research, summarising, and
decision-making you do for your groundup every day.

What if your next collaboration started with a walk? That was the question behind Groundup Transit and last Saturday, we got to see it come alive.

With our partner The Legal Sauce, we brought together groundups, charities, and legal volunteers for something a little different. Not a conference. Not a panel. Just people, walking side by side through the city talking honestly about the work they do and exploring what's possible when we move – and think – together.

A huge thank you to: ⚖️ The Legal Sauce and our legal volunteers, who gave their time and expertise to help groundups and charities understand how to work together well. 🤝 Art and Grow Collective and Be Kind SG for your generous and candid sharing at the fireside chat. 💛 Every groundup and charity representative who showed up and walked with us – we can't wait to see what grows from the conversations you started.

This is what the BAGUS community is about – genuine connections, built one step at a time.
