Catch new works by .foo and at Spectres: They dream in time, an exhibition at .

We known both of them for a while and been observing their practice. Spectres signal a milestone in both their practice where the works offer fresh perspectives on the ecological/urban discourse.

Huiwen's project scavenged everyday material to recreate nature and bird calls. Tan Wei's analog composite photos of the moon. Both series sit in this quiet space or point to the 'hidden from plain sight' - amidst a busy, bussling, noise of the urban.

We met chi too in May 2017 when he came to Singapore on a NTU CCA residency. He went everywhere in his sarong, and he called us “Singaporean misfits”! Later that year we visited too soon, the pub he ran with Simon Soon in Zhongshan Building in KL. In 2018, we collaborated on a short residency programme at Zhongshan Building. In 2023, we attended the opening of his exhibition A Sea of Despair and Delight organised by Back Room at GodownKL (who could have turned down “please come join me in a night of debauchery”?) and Favouritism is my Favourite -ism “all my favourite artists lined up in a row” at Back Room. More recently, we met him at Ilham Gallery where he worked. He invited us to visit his new home in Trengganu. We said yes, but it’s not meant to be. Farewell chi too, u were a rare gem!

Kuala Lumpur-born chi too emerged in the late 2000s as a distinctive multidisciplinary voice among Malaysia's younger contemporary artists

SAW in 10 Days brought together visually-impaired co-curators, youth ambassadors, artists, and participants to reimagine how art is guided, paced, and shared.

We explored Singapore Art Week through walking tours, conversations, tactile encounters and shared learning. 🕺🎨

This is what moving together can look like! 🤳

See you on our next journey! 🚌✨

Spaces hold us in ways we often only notice when they disappear. Independent community spaces are more than just physical walls – they are cosmic vessels for ideas to be conceive and birth, they hold space for joy and sorrow, grief and longing, rituals and connections.

This experiential workshop invites participants to explore what the spaces we inhabit within and without, on personal, intergenerational, and collective levels.

Through dialogue, movement explorations, sensory attunemet, guided reflections, and creative expression, we will create a living archive in our bodies and in each other, honouring the spaces, history and alchemy, re-imagining legacy beyond physical walls.

No prior experience in movement or somatics is required.

This is an offering by Daphne Chua to the arts community, as Town Hall Follow-up Session 3. Entry is free with a suggested donation of $12 which will go to T:>Works for the use of their space.
