𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬

SHA in partnership with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) organised a dedicated business matching session with local farms for hotels on 29 September 2026 at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore.

It was a productive afternoon starting with a sharing by SFA on local production and Farm-to-Table Recognition Programme (FTTRP) followed by the curated business matching and showcase.

A big thank you to 50 hoteliers who came exploring opportunities to source local produce directly from 19 participating farms!

Jointly organised by SHA and the FDAWU - Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union, with the support of 's e2i (Employment & Employability Institute), this year’s award recognised a record high of 93 hotel staff for their excellent performance and contributions to organizational success.

Winners received the award from Guest-of-Honour, Mr Desmond Tan, Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office and Deputy Secretary-General, NTUC.

The annual Hospitality Exchange (HX), organised by SHA and supported by STB and SWDA, took place on 3 September 2026 at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, bringing together some 300 local and international participants for a day of insights, conversations and connections.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Ms Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Foreign Affairs for gracing HX 2026 as our Guest of Honour.

𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝟰𝟭 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀!

The 41st SHA Inter-Hotel Bowling Tournament 2026 successfully concluded on 1 September 2026 at SuperBowl SAFRA Mount Faber, with 59 teams from 38 hotels participating this year!

Our heartiest congratulations to Marina Bay Sands for retaining the SHA Challenge Trophy Champion and winning back the SHA Challenge Shield Champion from 2024. Resorts World Sentosa, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Singapore and more also showed incredible skill on the lanes. Applause as well to all the Men’s & Ladies’ High Series, High Game, and Masters Champions!

𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒓 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉: 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓

On 17 August 2026, the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) brought together hospitality professionals for our Career Health Workshop – “Career Conversations That Matter”, facilitated by Ms Christine Chan.

In today’s evolving hospitality landscape, meaningful career conversations can make a real difference in how employees see their growth, development and future within an organisation.

Through practical discussions, tools and frameworks, participants explored how to conduct more structured and purposeful career conversations - from understanding employees’ aspirations and career satisfaction factors to developing actionable career plans and supporting growth beyond promotions.

The response from participants was encouraging:
⭐4.5 out of 5 – Overall, the workshop met participants’ expectations
⭐4.62 out of 5 – Relevance and applicability to their work
⭐ 100% of respondents said they would recommend the workshop to others

More importantly, participants left ready to put their learning into action — with many indicating that they would share the insights with their teams, apply them to current or future initiatives, and use them in strategic planning and decision-making.

One participant summed it up simply: “Really enriching.”
Because meaningful career development doesn’t begin with a promotion - it begins with a conversation. 💬

♻️ 𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒁𝒆𝒓𝒐 𝑾𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝒁𝒆𝒓𝒐 𝑾𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆

On 13 & 14 August 2026, the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA), in collaboration with the National Environment Agency (NEA) , conducted its first Zero Waste Manager Course for the hotel industry, facilitated by Dr Aji Divakar.

The two-day course brought together 22 participants from across Singapore’s hotel industry, providing a valuable platform for hoteliers to learn, exchange ideas and explore practical approaches to managing and reducing waste within their operations.
Participants gained a deeper understanding of zero waste and circular economy principles, the 3Rs, waste reduction and segregation, food waste management, data tracking, and ways to engage colleagues in building a stronger culture of waste reduction.

The response was highly encouraging. Among the 21 participants who completed the end-of-course evaluation, representing 18 hotels/organisations, the course achieved an average rating of 4.73 out of 5, with all respondents indicating that they were satisfied with the course and would recommend it to their colleagues.

Participants particularly valued the practical examples and the opportunity to learn from fellow hoteliers:
💬 “Sharing sessions with other hoteliers.”
💬 “Very good content. Clear. Allow open talks & conversations while focusing on how to execute and building a collective awareness.”
💬 “The most useful aspect was learning how to apply zero-waste and circular economy principles to actual hotel operations.”

More importantly, participants left ready to turn learning into action - from improving recycling and reducing food waste to reviewing waste segregation practices, engaging colleagues and developing waste reduction action plans.
One participant even shared plans to register more HODs for the next session in October to build a hotel-wide committee, dashboard and SMART action plan.
