Heritage isn’t just about the past, it’s about how we live today and what we save for our future. ⏳✨

We had an inspiring kickoff visioning session at Telok Blangah, bringing together residents and stakeholders (including Adviser  !) to map out what makes Heritage Activation Node at Telok Blangah (HAN@Telok Blangah) a meaningful one.

From nostalgic stories of wedding photos at Alkaff Mansion to our beloved local hawkers, we’re reimagining our lush greenery and vibrant community spaces to co-create and envision a heritage node that truly resonates.

We’re now looking for more friendly faces to join our upcoming visioning workshop to further develop our project!

Are you:
📍 A Telok Blangah business owner or resident?
📍 An educator or community leader?
📍 Someone with a deep love for the area?

We want you as a participant for our next visioning workshop!

Tag someone who needs to see this, DM us, or email us at [email protected] to get involved. 📬

Goodbye NDC, Hello GUI @ Khatib! 🌿
For over 7 years, the National Design Centre has been our home—a place where ideas took flight and P!D found its footing. We are endlessly grateful to the community for the beautiful memories and for being such a vital part of our journey.

But it’s time for our next chapter.
We’re officially moving our home to the heartlands of Khatib, specifically at the Ground Up Initiative (GUI) Kampong Campus. 📍

Why the shift? Because participatory design belongs to where the pulse of the community is. By joining the GUI family, we aren't just moving to a new office; we’re moving into a living, breathing ecosystem. We want to be present in the everyday rhythms of the heartland: from the soil to the void decks.

Designing for our More-Than-Human World
This transition also marks an evolution in our practice. In our next chapter, we’re deepening our commitment to a more-than-human participatory approach. We aren't just designing with people; we’re designing with trees, animals, water, soils, and all the living systems that make our neighborhoods resilient and whole.

We can’t wait to welcome you to our new home soon.
See you at GUI!

P!D is officially heading back to Telok Blangah! 🎉

We’ve missed the hustle and bustle of working directly with the community on the ground, and we couldn’t have picked a better place to jump back in.

As announced yesterday, we’re partnering withNational Heritage Boardg and the Telok Blangah community to co-create the soul of the new Heritage Activation Node (HAN)! 🤝

Look forward to regular activities and a whole lot of community-led co-creation. 🛠️

See you soon, Telok Blangah! 👋

Can our everyday places in Singapore truly build social connection? How do we use these places to move from a simple “hello” to forming friendship, trust and care?

Shophouse & Co, in partnership with Temasek Foundation, has been working on a landscape research study focused on community-centred placemaking strategies within Singapore. This research aims to explore how placemaking can serve as a lever to cultivate social capital and strengthen community bonds.

Together with Participate in Design and Scott Brownrigg, we are bringing together individuals and organisations from the non-profit, ground-up, social, urban and built environment, philanthropy, local businesses, arts, culture, education sectors, as well as those who share an interest in this study.

Join us in a community-led inquiry into how we turn our everyday environments into scenes and nodes for many powerful small interactions – storytelling, partnership building, and collective care.

Hear community stories from invited panellists and engage in a session of fun and interactive discussion. Your voice will be important in helping us understand the challenges and opportunities of citizen-led placemaking.

2025 was a year of gratitude.

A year filled with meaningful collaborations and the privilege of working alongside communities from all walks of life.
To our residents, friends of P!D, advisors, and collaborators, THANK YOU for your trust, generosity, and belief in designing with people, not just for them.

Every conversation, workshop, and shared moment shaped the work in ways we’re deeply grateful for.
As we step into 2026, we’re excited to experiment more, learn together, and continue co-creating new memories!
