Title of Entry: The Making of Singapore: A Recipe
Description: Unassuming, unfinished, always becoming — Singapore is a melting pot of flavours that is constantly brewing with new developments.

Like a carefully crafted recipe, each “ingredient” represents a key part of Singapore’s built environment. From shophouses to skyscrapers, the possibilities of what Singapore can become are endless.

Taking inspiration from the vast cultures Singapore has, we hope to illustrate the cohesive efforts that made Singapore what it is today. We may be a small nation, but like a kampung, it takes a community to build a place we can proudly call home.
There’s still more to come – and its ours to cook.

As we journey from tradition to transformation, these landmarks speak of culture, ambition, and identity – not merely as monuments, but as storytellers. Set against a postcard backdrop, this illustration is more than just a picture; it captures a memory in motion.
In commemorating 75 years of nation-building, we honour not only the legacy of our past, but a story still unfolding with every step forward.

Title of Entry: Building the Future of Singapore, Our Home
Description: Through our artwork, we express our hopes for the future and its link to our past and heritage. We envision Singapore’s infrastructure becoming more advanced and eco-friendly, while still embracing our identity. Elements of greenery and clean energy in the buildings show this vision. Green spaces encourage people to go outside, and clean energy helps protect the environment. The river symbolises the flow of time. Though time moves on, the vibrancy of our people stays. The past flows into the future, forming its foundation. The four large figures represent students and youths who will build Singapore’s future. Including them acknowledges how their dreams and efforts will contribute to what lies ahead.

Title of Entry: Heritage Hideout
Description: The Dragon Playground is more than a play space. It’s a cherished icon of Singapore’s built environment and a symbol of our shared heritage. For many, it was a childhood hideout where imagination offered escape from daily stresses. Thoughtfully designed, it fostered connection, creativity, and community. As Singapore grew from kampongs to modern flats, the playground stood as a constant, witnessing change while preserving a sense of belonging. Its preservation inspires us to design future spaces that honour our past while nurturing the bonds that make Singapore home.

Participant Name: Team BBSS
Title of Entry: A BBSS DIY School Project By Sec 2 Students to Reimagine Our Integrated Community Hub
Description: This is a story of student empowerment at BBSS, where our Sec 2 cohort collaborated with The Possible Class to transform our Library and Heritage Space. As Bukit Batok evolves from its quarry origins to a smart estate, students reimagined these spaces into the Bukit Batok Community Hub - an integrated learning environment that connects our heritage with future learning.
Taking on the role of architects by putting them on drawing boards, they redesigned the space with eco-friendly elements, incorporating a school heritage gallery within an earth-themed library. These designs seamlessly blend past and present, connecting history and nature to everyday learning spaces, aligning with Singapore’s journey towards becoming a green nation.
