Security Association Singapore ("SAS"), co-organised with Temasek Polytechnic-Security Industry Institute, celebrated Security Officers Day Awards on 24 July 2026, graced by Guest of Honour, Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash, Minister of State, Ministry of Manpower & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and Special Guest, Member of Parliament, Mr Melvin Yong.

This year's milestone: 877 award recipients across seven categories — a record recognition of professionalism and dedication across our security workforce.

Key highlights from President, SAS, Mr Kelvin Goh's address:

📈 Advanced Traffic Control Competency Framework
Security supervisors will now be empowered to independently lead complex traffic management operations — a significant step in expanding career progression and operational scope. Onboarding begins August 2026, with full rollout in January 2027.

🔥 Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness Programmes
In partnership with the Association of Company Emergency Response Teams (Singapore), SAS is launching specialised fire safety training for security professionals — from foundational courses to advanced emergency response certifications for security managers.

These upskilling initiatives underscore our three-pillar approach to industry advancement: enhancing professional capabilities, maintaining dignity and respect in the profession, and improving working conditions.

We also introduced the Outstanding Executive Protection Officer Award this year, recognising the often-overlooked excellence of close protection and executive security specialists.

President, SAS together with Committee Members, Mr Francis Chng and Mr Tom Ho, were invited by the Executive Protection Association ("EPA") to attend the 3rd Annual Asian Bodyguard Competition 2026 in Bangkok.

This international event brought together local and international teams, representing both the Government and Private sectors.
