When Fion was expecting her first child, she learnt about cord blood donation from a SCBB Donor Coordinator. Although she and her husband had considered private storage, they realised that donating could make this precious medical resource available to others in need.

Years later, when she was expecting her second child, donating cord blood was the first thing on her mind.

This week, we had the opportunity to engage with midwives from the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, during which we dived into the clinical aspects of cord blood banking. Such sessions help ensure every step, from educating parents to collecting cord blood, is carried out with care and precision.
