🌟 It was a morning full of insightful conversations, shared experiences and meaningful connections at the Singapore-China Youth Interns Exchange Scheme (YES) Forum 2026! YES alumni, students from IHLs, companies offering internship positions in China, and partners of Business China came together to learn and share what an internship experience in China looks like. 🌟

In her welcome speech, Business China CEO Ms Kwek Poh Heok encouraged youths to broaden their horizons, develop new skills through cross-cultural exchange, and embrace future opportunities with confidence.

Our YES interns Nadhrah, Han Yang and Zhu Kou shared their personal takes on what prospective interns to China should mentally prepare for. YES alumnus Alfred then moderated a light-hearted and candid panel with fellow YES alumni, tackling burning questions many participants had about interning in China.

Business China Chairman Mr Lee Yi Shyan was in Liaoning this week, joining Minister Masagos Zulkifli, SMS Desmond Tan 陈国明 and others in the Singapore delegation at the 11th Singapore–Liaoning Economic and Trade Council (SLETC) meeting.

It was a full circle moment for Mr Lee. He was the CEO of IE Singapore when the SLETC was launched in 2003, helping to lay the groundwork for Singapore-Liaoning partnership more than two decades ago.

At the sidelines of the SLETC meeting, Mr Lee got a firsthand look at Liaoning's tech edge, visiting SIASUN Robot & Automation and Neusoft Group to see robotics, intelligent manufacturing and digital innovation in action. Mr Lee, with the Singapore delegation also sat down with Liaoning Party Secretary Xu Kunlin for a candid exchange on what's next for Singapore–Liaoning collaboration.

Business China is glad to be part of the journey to support more exchanges, stronger business links, and new opportunities ahead. 🇸🇬🤝🇨🇳

通商中国主席李奕贤先生本周访问辽宁，与社会及家庭发展部长马善高、总理公署高级政务部长陈国明等新加坡代表团成员，出席第十一届新加坡－辽宁经贸理事会会议。

对李主席来说，这是一次意义特别的重逢。早在2003年经贸理事会成立之初，他正是新加坡国际企业发展局局长，为新辽两地二十多年的合作关系打下基础。

会议期间，李主席实地走访新松机器人自动化公司和东软集团，近距离了解辽宁在机器人、智能制造和数字科技领域的实力。他也与新加坡代表团一同拜会辽宁省委书记许昆林，就深化新辽合作交流看法。

From Shanghai to Singapore, how can cities tell their stories to the world effectively? 🤔

✨ It was a pleasure to welcome media and television professionals from Shanghai to Business China!

The delegation engaged in a meaningful dialogue on Singapore-China cultural exchange, cultural communication and international outreach, sharing experiences and insights on communication strategies and publicity initiatives. Business China also shared our approaches to media engagement, outreach and communications planning.
As exchanges between Singapore and China continue to deepen, telling compelling city stories, showcasing unique identities, and fostering cross-cultural understanding have become increasingly important in international communication. Through this exchange, participants shared experiences, broadened perspectives and gained new insights into strengthening people-to-people ties and fostering greater mutual understanding between Singapore and China. 🌏

We thank our guests for visiting Business China and for the enriching exchange! We look forward to more opportunities for collaboration and continued learning in the future, and wish everyone a fruitful visit and an enjoyable stay in Singapore! 🤝

Chinese Brands Going Global: Confidence or Pressure? 🤔

That's the question nearly 600 students and youths considered at the China Studies Perspectives Forum, hosted by Business China and River Valley High School.

🎤 Dr Chen Gang (East Asian Institute, NUS) and Mr Charles Zhao (Tuya Singapore) brought together their academic and industry perspectives to explore how innovation and shifting market dynamics are propelling Chinese brands onto the global stage. They also shared what these developments mean for Singapore, the region, and the next generation.

Indeed, today’s youth need not be mere observers of this transformation. There are abundant opportunities for young people to engage with these fast-paced developments and forge meaningful connections across Singapore, Southeast Asia and China. We thank our speakers, partners and participants for an insightful and enriching exchange of ideas.
