Hair for Hope

Hair for Hope Hair for Hope is Children's Cancer Foundation's annual iconic fundraiser.

Organised by Children's Cancer Foundation, Hair for Hope is the only head-shaving event in Singapore that serves to raise funds and awareness of childhood cancer. Every shaven head represents an understanding by an individual of the ordeals that a child with cancer is subjected to. HfH also provides an opportunity to garner support from the public in the form of monetary pledging. By volunteering

to shave, the shavees become CCF’s ambassadors in spreading childhood cancer messages to their family, friends and colleagues when garnering monetary support from them. Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) is a social service agency with a mission of improving the quality of lives of children with cancer and their families and children impacted by cancer through enhancing their emotional, social and medical well-being. Founded in 1992, CCF provides children with cancer and their families the much needed support in their battle against the life threatening illness. Over the years, CCF has helped more than 4000 children and their families at different stages of the illness and recovery. Mission & Vision:

Before you skip this post, take 1 min to listen to what one childhood cancer survivor wants you to know. 💛

"They used to call me names because I was bald."

When Wilson was just five years old, he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Alongside the challenges of cancer treatment, he also had to face something many children fear — afraid of being judged for looking different.

"Kids didn't really understand what was going on. They would call me names and make fun of me for being bald. It hurt... but looking back, they simply didn't know."

Today, Wilson is thriving as a Year 2 student at Hwa Chong Junior College. But he hasn't forgotten what it felt like to be that little boy.

That's why he's sharing his story, to remind every child undergoing treatment that being bald isn't something to hide. It's a symbol of strength, courage and resilience. Most importantly, they are not alone.

This Hair for Hope, Wilson invites you to stand in solidarity with children and families impacted by childhood cancer.

Shave your head. Grab a friend. Make your BALD Statement together.

Because sometimes, one shaved head can tell a child: "I see you. I support you. I'm standing with you and you are not alone." 💛

💛 Every patch tells a story. What's yours?

This year, Hair for Hope's theme, "This Is Our Shared Journey," reminds us that no child should face cancer alone. Every person who shaves their head stands in solidarity with children with cancer, sending a powerful message of hope, courage, and support.

Behind every shaved head is a story — a loved one remembered, a child supported, a challenge overcome, or a belief that no child should face cancer alone.

Together, these stories form a patchwork of courage, hope, and community.

So tell us — what would inspire you to make a BALD statement? 👇

For many of us, hair is something we style, cut, or take pride in. For Tze Sien, shaving his head became a symbol of something much greater.

Having walked the childhood cancer journey with his son many years ago, Tze Sien witnessed firsthand the challenges that children with cancer face, and the impact a supportive community can make during their most difficult moments.

Through Hair for Hope, he has seen how the funds raised help sustain the programmes and services that Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF) provides for the children and families impacted by childhood cancer.

"I want every child going through this journey to know they are not alone, and that there is no shame in their fight.”

This year, under the theme "This Is Our Shared Journey", it sends a powerful reminder that no child or family should walk this path alone, and that we are standing in solidarity with them.

Show your support today. Join us on 25 & 26 July: https://hairforhope.org.sg/ 💛

Rajani first shaved her head for Hair for Hope in 2019 in memory of her father, who passed away from cancer. She returned again in 2023. And this year, she is stepping forward once more.

For Rajani, shaving is more than just losing her hair. It is a symbol of solidarity with children going through cancer. It is a way of reminding them that their strength, courage, and identity are defined by so much more than their appearance.

"My commitment to shave is strengthened each time I think about the brave children and families facing childhood cancer. This is my way of standing with them and showing that they do not walk this journey alone."

Every shave is a statement of hope and support for children and families impacted by childhood cancer.

This year, will you stand with Rajani?

Support Hair for Hope 2026 and register to shave on 25 or 26 July. https://hairforhope.org.sg 💛
