Epworth Community Services Epworth Community Services is a Social Service Agency (SSA) that empowers children and youths to thrive.

What does learning look like at Epworth? 🖍️☀️

At Epworth Integrated Services for Child Development (ISCD), we equip children with the skills and confidence to thrive in school and beyond:

📚 Literacy and Behaviour Intervention Programme (LBIP): Helps children aged 5 to 12 bridge gaps in reading and writing, and build strategies to manage their learning challenges

⭐ STAR Behaviour Modification Programme: Equips children aged 5 to 12 with practical tools to regulate emotions, build positive social behaviours and strengthen executive functioning, with parents as close partners throughout

🎨 Basic Literacy Programme (BLP): Volunteer-led small group classes where children aged 5 to 7 build early literacy skills through storytelling and hands-on crafts

✏️ Grammar Support Programme (GSP): Makes language concepts easier to grasp through visual learning, strengthening grammar, comprehension and written language

🧩 Psychological Assesments: Our Educational Psychologists provide comprehensive assessments to better understand a child’s learning, developmental and behavioural profile, helping families access the right support and educational pathways.

This Children’s Day, we celebrate the joy, curiosity and potential in every child 💛

At Epworth, we walk alongside children and youths through life’s challenges, creating safer environments, strengthening relationships, and building the confidence and skills they need to move forward.

✨ In celebration of , we are sharing stories from the fostering community.

We had the pleasure of having foster parents, Mdm Norizan and Mr Jamaluddin, to share their fostering journey at our info-sharing session on 22 August 2026. Mdm Norizan and Mr Jamaluddin have been fostering for 10 years and are presently caring for a 12-year-old boy, Farzan*, since he was two.

Mdm Norizan and Mr Jamaluddin recalled that Farzan was very quiet and reserved when he first came into their home. Subsequently, they discovered that he was experiencing developmental delays in his speech and fine motor skills. During the session, they shared with the attendees how they navigated these challenges and supported Farzan with help from professionals.

Mr Jamaluddin also shared that fishing has always been a family affair, and Farzan picked up fishing as a hobby from him when he was six. The family spends quality time together bonding over fishing. Now, Farzan can tie fishing knots and set up fishing equipment independently!

Mdm Norizan mentioned that Farzan enjoys building LEGO sets and dreams of becoming an engineer in the future. Besides providing basic necessities like food and shelter, foster families provide a secure and stable family environment, where children can pursue and develop their interests.
