On 19th July 2025, in celebration of SG60, we are proud to unveil the new logo for Food Rescue @ Events (FRE), a symbol of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and community care.

We changed from the initial logo image (with the foods at the background) which was designed by our founding member, Mr. Goh to what we have now which was generated by ChatGPT as we are still a volunteer-led ground up, hence no budget for designer's designed logo.

A time to pause, reflect, and celebrate the spirit of kindness and care that unites us all. It’s a month that reminds us: every act of compassion matters, no matter how big or small.

At FRE, this moment is especially meaningful.

Since 2017, our dedicated food rescuers and volunteers have worked tirelessly to prevent food waste and support vulnerable communities.

Their efforts ensure that surplus food from events doesn’t go to waste but instead nourishes those who need it most.

As we look forward to Singapore’s 60th birthday, let’s continue to celebrate and uplift everyone who chooses care as their calling.

Food Rescue @ Events (FRE) has truly made a remarkable impact in Singapore since its inception in 2017!

Being the first food rescue group to receive accreditation from the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) is a significant accomplishment and speaks to the dedication and credibility of our mission.

FRE’s core mission—rescuing surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and redistributing it to families in need or direct beneficiaries—has been an essential part of reducing food waste and supporting those facing food insecurity.

Over the past seven years, our efforts have not only helped reduce food waste but have also uplifted countless individuals in the community by ensuring they have access to necessary nourishment.

The food rescue process, which involves collecting surplus from events, businesses, and individuals, has created a beautiful, positive cycle that benefits both the environment and the community.

As we enter the festive season, we want to express heartfelt gratitude to all the supporters, donors, volunteers, and food rescuers who have played a crucial role in this journey.

Your collective efforts are the backbone of the organization, and together, you are making the community stronger and more compassionate.

Thank you for walking with us on this inspiring journey, and congratulations on the lives you have touched over the past seven years!

Your hard work continues to make a difference, and we look forward to the ongoing success of this mission.

Glad to be invited by an organisation to rescue bento meals after their event on 7th October 2023.

We were mobilised in less than 1 day to put everyone together in reducing food wastage.

Thank you to the giver (organiser of event), volunteers and food rescuers who helped out.

Glad to be recognized by Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled for our Food Rescue effort on their 25th Anniversary celebration on 6th October 2023.

On this year 58th National Day, we are glad that food rescue items such as breads, breads could be rescued and re-blessed to our un-sung heros who have been quietly working to keep our streets clean.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped out in the drinks' rescue tonight at different locations.

All rescued drinks would be passed on to the respective charities, homes, seniors from low income we worked with.

Close to 10,000 can drinks were rescued, and it should benefit at least 500 households as well.

We all know that the big supermarkets are charging for plastic bags from 3rd July 2023.

Does anyone here still need plastic bags for rubbish or other purposes?

Or always have additional tote, woven bags that you would like to donate out to save the environment?

We are not encouraging to use more plastic, but rather to reuse and not produce new plastic bags
