The Business Times Budding Artists Fund

The Business Times Budding Artists Fund Empowering young lives. Supporting young dreams. Leave no child behind.

The Business Times (BT) and TRCL share a common belief that every artistically gifted child in Singapore should be given the opportunity to develop that talent regardless of his/her family's financial background. To realise this vision, The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) aims to level up the playing field for families who do not have the means to enable their children to pursue their

interests in the arts. Through this fund, BT and TRCL will engage professionals in the performing and visual arts to help nurture these young talents in music, dance, theatre, visual art and digital skills.

ChildAid 2026 is back on 13 & 14 November! For the first time as a festival with free admission, it will unfold over several hours, with audiences being able to move between and check out more performances.

Another first - adult performers can now audition, as long as their act features at least one key performer aged 19 or below, allowing cross-generational collaboration and mentorship.

Now in its 21st edition, the event has raised more than S$32 million for two charities, one of which is The Business Times Budding Artists Fund, collectively helping more than 230,000 disadvantaged children and youth over the years.

Psst psst... ahead of the month celebrating Singapore's National Day, we were told that Cafe One O at 10 Square will be launching a Chef's Edition of local favourite Mee Siam, celebrating the nation's birthday while supporting The Business Times Budding Artists Fund.

We asked our chefs why Mee Siam, and were let in on how our chefs made Singapore their home after leaving their native country - yes, you guessed it, Thailand, or once known as Siam. Word has it that Mee Siam literally means "Siamese noodles". Having made its way into the lives of Singaporeans now, our chefs are offering their version of it from ๐Ÿ“…Mon 3 Aug๐Ÿ“… at Cafe One O!

We want you to see and savour the dish in person - and tell us if you taste our chefs' Thai-inspired culinary style, shaped by their life and experiences in Singapore.

With Spain newly crowned FIFA World Cup 2026โ„ข champ (and fans of different timezones settling back to routine), we thank the 16 business leaders have come together for The Business Times World Cup 2026 CEO Challenge, a friendly initiative held in support of and raised S$17,000 for The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF).

The CEO Challenge celebrates the spirit of sport while bringing together Singapore's business community in support of a meaningful cause. The enthusiastic participation underscores a shared commitment to giving back through BT BAF, which aims to provide children and youths from underserved or financially disadvantaged backgrounds the access to arts education and opportunities, helping them develop confidence, creativity and potential through the arts.

An evening of art, stories, and meaningful conversations. โœจ

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening preview of Collected Chapters: Christine Mak on the evening of 26 May.

Bringing together works spanning decades of the artistโ€™s life and practice, the exhibition offered a rare glimpse into the memories, reflections, and journeys behind each piece โ€” reminding us how art can quietly hold the stories of a life lived.

More than an exhibition, Collected Chapters is also about impact. Proceeds from artwork acquisitions support The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) and The Olive Tree Fund, extending these stories beyond the gallery and into the communities they serve.

Weโ€™re deeply grateful for the support, conversations, and shared moments from the evening.

The exhibition is now open to the public from 27 May to 5 June, 11am to 8pm at the Visual Arts Centre (Dhoby Gaut). Exhibition will close at 4pm on 5 June.

We look forward to welcoming you. ๐Ÿค
