The Raffles Parents’ Association (RPA) was warmly welcomed by our “sister” parent support group, the Parents for RGS Association (PRGS), for the annual RPA/PRGS Gathering at the Raffles Learning Centre in RGS.

It was a lovely evening filled with fellowship, laughter and meaningful conversations, bringing both parent communities together in the spirit of the Raffles family. PRGS also prepared a sumptuous dinner for everyone to enjoy, adding to the warmth and hospitality of the evening.

The gathering concluded with a cheerful gift exchange, but the most memorable part was the renewed friendships, strengthened bonds and connections shared across both groups.

Our heartfelt thanks to PRGS for hosting us so graciously and making the evening such a special one! 💚

What a wonderful way to wrap up our final RPA Connect session of the year!

Last Saturday, our Year 5 parents and guardians came together for a morning of laughter, icebreaker games and meaningful conversations about the ups and downs of guiding our teens through JC life.

Year 5 marks a major milestone as our children transition from secondary school into the JC phase of their RI journey. With greater independence, new academic demands and the road to A Levels ahead, this season brings plenty of adjustment for both students and parents and guardians.

We explored topics ranging from dating and screen time to exam preparation and sleep habits, with one universal takeaway: our teens need our unconditional love and support above all.

Along the way, we built friendships, exchanged practical tips and strengthened a support system that makes this journey a little lighter and more meaningful.

A special shoutout to Boon Siong, Denise, Juliet and Shirley, our Y6 and beyond parents who returned as befrienders to share their invaluable experiences and support our Y5 parents and guardians!

A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful parent volunteer befrienders, the 38th MC and every parent and guardian who joined us throughout the year. RPA Connect wouldn’t be the warm and welcoming community without all of you!

We look forward to building more bridges and connecting again next year! 💚

🪖 RPA Pre-NS Talk 2026 – Ah Boys to Men ✨️

Last Saturday, 12 September 2026, parents and guardians of our Year 6 boys gathered for the RPA Pre-NS Talk 2026 – “Ah Boys to Men”, organised by the Raffles Parents’ Association.

With National Service just around the corner, parents and guardians had many questions about training, life in camp, and how best to support their sons and wards through this transition.

Our emcee, Ser Jin, hosted the morning’s programme, while COL (NS) Amos Ang shared practical insights into NS life, from training and field camp to nutrition, phone calls home and weekend book-outs. SLTC (NS) Nicholas Wong also shared personal experiences as a father supporting his son through enlistment.

The panel session with COL (NS) Amos Ang, SLTC (NS) Nicholas Wong, Mr Burt Peh and Ms Jessline Lim offered candid perspectives as servicemen and parents, helping to address many of the concerns raised.

A memorable reminder for parents and guardians: we continue to be our boys’ cheerleaders, comforters, connoisseurs and chauffeurs as they navigate this new chapter.

A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, panel members, our volunteer MCs, and all the Year 6 parents and guardians who joined us.

As our Year 6 boys take their next step, may we continue to walk alongside them with encouragement and support as our “Ah Boys” grow into men. 💚💪🏻

🍀 Plant Memories, Grow Bonds ✨

Last Saturday, 5 September, RPA 2026 Family Bonding Day: Grow Together – RI Family Terrarium Adventure brought together more than 130 participants for a meaningful morning of creativity, connection and fun. From enjoying breakfast together to designing their very own miniature green worlds, families shared ideas, laughter and teamwork while creating something special side by side.

The hands-on terrarium workshop was complemented by an exciting Kahoot challenge, where families put their knowledge to the test for the chance to win extra decorations for their creations. The combination of learning, friendly competition and creativity made for an engaging and memorable experience for all ages.

We are especially grateful for the positive feedback from participants, who described the event as engaging, well-organised and fun for the whole family. Families appreciated the clear and patient step-by-step guidance, thoughtfully curated terrarium materials and interactive Kahoot challenge, which added an extra element of excitement to the experience.

Beyond creating their own miniature green worlds, many shared that the workshop provided a meaningful opportunity to connect with fellow RI families, work together as a team and enjoy quality family time in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Most importantly, the event reminded us that the best memories are often created through shared experiences, meaningful conversations and moments of collaboration. Watching families build, learn and grow together was truly the highlight of the day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success, and a special thank you to our dedicated parent volunteers for your time, energy and teamwork in bringing the event to life. 🫶🏻💚

🎉 Staff Appreciation Day 2026 💐

On 27 August, Raffles Institution came alive with joy and appreciation as we celebrated our wonderful teachers and staff at Staff Appreciation Day!

Graced by RI Principal Mr Aaron Loh and attended by many enthusiastic staff and teachers, the celebration was a joyful occasion filled with good food, fun and fellowship.

Staff enjoyed an array of live food stations serving chicken rice, laksa, muah chee and churros, alongside a coffee and tea cart. They could also pick up a savoury snack, a sweet treat and a biscuit to enjoy during their breaks. 🍗🍜🍩☕

The fun continued with our Spin the Wheel activity, where staff could try their luck before choosing a gift from one of the colourful gift tables. 🎁 Our photo booth also captured plenty of happy moments and memories with colleagues. 📸

And for those with green fingers, there was something extra special to take home. Lovingly created by Rafflesian parents, these plants were offered to our staff as a token of love and thanks. Staff could choose a plant or two to nurture at home or brighten their work desks. 🪴

Our appreciation also extended to our dedicated ancillary staff, who were treated to a specially prepared nasi lemak bento and a packet drink — a small gesture of thanks for the important work they do in supporting the Raffles community every day. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to all our teachers and staff for the passion, care and commitment you bring to Raffles Institution. We hope this celebration was a small but meaningful way of saying:

🌟 RPA Connect: Embracing the Journey 🌟

It was a wonderful Saturday morning of connection, laughter and authentic sharing as over 40 Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 parents came together for RPA Connect on 29 August.

Before the session began, our RPA merchandise booth was already attracting plenty of interest! Parents browsed, picked up their favourite items and showed an enthusiastic response to our RPA merchandise. 🛍️

We kicked things off with a fun game of Bingo, giving everyone a chance to mingle and get to know fellow parents. Parents were then grouped according to their child’s year level, where they engaged in authentic and candid sharing about the joys, challenges and experiences of parenting through the different stages of secondary school.

It was especially heartening to see many parents exchanging contacts and forming new connections, with plans to stay in touch and continue supporting one another along the parenting journey.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful team of parent volunteers and MC members who pitched in to make the session possible. Your time, energy and enthusiasm helped create a warm and welcoming space for everyone to connect and share.

🎓 A Little Boost for Our P6 Scholars! 🌟

As PSLE draws closer, the Raffles Parents’ Association (RPA) has prepared a special Scholarship Pack for our P6 Scholars — a small gesture of encouragement to remind them that we are cheering them on every step of the way.

Packed with snacks, treats and a few useful goodies, we hope this brings a little joy and motivation during this busy revision period.

On Saturday, 22 August 2026, the Raffles Parents’ Association (RPA) 38th Management Committee had a wonderful evening at the Old Rafflesian Association (ORA) Annual Dinner — made even more special this year as ORA and RGS alumnae came together for the very first time! 🎉

We were honoured to have Ms Jasmin Lau, Acting Minister for Manpower of Singapore, as the Guest of Honour for the evening.

It was also lovely spending some downtime with our teaching faculty and school leaders, including Principal Mr Aaron Loh and Vice-Principal Ms Melissa Lim. These opportunities to connect beyond our usual school engagements made the evening all the more special. ❤️

And of course, we couldn’t resist having a little fun with the AI photobooth! 📸🤖

A memorable evening filled with good company, laughter and meaningful connections. Here’s to many more opportunities for our Rafflesian communities to come together! ✨️
