வெற்றி IAEC
The Indian Activities Executive Committee, or IAEC for short, runs programmes and activities for the Indian community in Admiralty. VETRI also means Success in the Tamil language. Formed in 2003, VETRI has since run various enrichment programmes such as Indian Masala, which invites non-indian members of the community to participate in making ethnic Indian cuisines. VETRI also organise
s Yoga classes and Indian Folk Dance classes, and these have known to be very popular among non-Indians as well. Perhaps the highlight(s) of VETRI are the variety shows organised during the Tamil New Year around April, and the Festival of Lights, Deepavali, around October - November. These shows act to bond the community, and often attracts up to 400 residents. The future of VETRI lies in the promotion of the arts and technology. VETRI plans to introduce various courses such as 'Indian vocal singing' and conduct IT clinics for the young and old, to bridge the generation divide. VETRI believes that such cohesion among the generations and among residents will facilitate community bonding among Admiralty residents and provide for a vibrant community, rich with culture! As VETRI seeks to expand its capabilities to better serve the Indian Residents of Admiralty in the coming years, we at VETRI look forward to seeing you in our activities real soon! We believe that every resident has a stake in the community. Your support is vital to our vision, to create a vibrant and conscious society, for all to enjoy!
