Bethesda Care Services

Bethesda Care Services (BCS) is a voluntary welfare organization and a member of the National Council of Social Services (NCSS).

Empowering the East Singapore community, we provide social services and CARE for children, youths, families, and seniors, prioritising the needs of the vulnerable in our community. Since our inception in 1996, we have depended on voluntary donations from individuals and organizations to run our operations and services. We started with a vision of reaching out and meeting the needs of the community in Bedok area. Since then, BCS has been serving the children, youths, families and the elderly in need within our community. Small acts of care can make a meaningful difference.

The team from NYK Shipmanagement and NYK Group South Asia joined us for Meals-on-Wheels deliveries, spending time with seniors and getting a closer look at what goes into supporting them in their daily lives.

For the volunteers, it was a chance to connect, listen and understand the importance of community care. We’re glad the experience was a meaningful one for them too.

Family BBQ:
As part of our Family Uplift Programme, volunteers from BBTC organised a fun BBQ outing for our community families during the June holidays. We are thankful that the team had planned out the station games, sponsored the prizes, and barbequed dinner for everyone!

At YouthSpace, YuDe found mentors and opportunities to pursue his passion for the arts, including graffiti and creative workshops.

Today, he is studying at NAFA on a scholarship. 🎨

A big thank you to Phillips 66 for celebrating Children’s Day with our Sunshine Children Club kids!

The children had a wonderful time getting creative with the team from Phillips 66, painting and personalising their very own clay pieces with .

And after all that creating, it was time for a well-deserved tea break from McDonald’s.

We’re grateful to Phillips 66 for spending the day with our children and making Children’s Day a memorable one!

Our seniors had a fun afternoon getting their hands into some dough!

With Valerie guiding the way, everyone got to make vegetable buns and lava custard buns from scratch. There was plenty of kneading, filling, shaping and, of course, tasting along the way!

It was lovely seeing everyone pick up something new, have a good laugh and enjoy the afternoon together.

A big thank you to CIC for sponsoring the workshop and Feng Shan CC for hosting us.

For Darien, some of his earliest memories of BCS are of collecting his monthly food rations with his mother. Rice, oil, Milo and other household essentials helped ensure there was food on the table during a difficult period. Today, he volunteers with the meals-on-wheels programme, and even started his own fundraiser page on Giving(dot)sg to raise funds for BCS.
